Flanders and broken promises

Antwerp - Nearly one week of Flemish 'independence' has gone by. In my last article I reported about the congressional elections and I congratulated both EDEN and PEACE forces for the fight they put up in Flanders.

The Romanians from 'The Group' managed to sign alliances with Romania and the USA. It was nothing which wasn't expected, seeing as the Romanians have the intentions to sever ties between 'Belgium' and eBenelux (a suggested new name for United Netherlands). By singing the alliances chances eBenelux will conquer back Flanders any time soon are slim.

All fair to me seeing as 'The Group' is trying to set things up in Flanders. Some laws to improve the Flemish economic situation have already been approved by EDEN and PEACE congressmen, but it is still not enough to get the economy really going. Apparantly many Flemish people joined the game, but there are hardly jobs and there are near to none BEF left in the state treasury.

I am not blaming 'The Group' for it. They already invested quite a lot in Flanders to get things started. I am not blaming Benelux Party or PEACE party, because they still hope Flanders can be reunited with eBenelux and are not really willing to assist their Romanian 'enemies' (yet). There is however one person who made some promises before the resistance war succeeded with regards to the economic situation in Flanders, but who has yet to come through on these promises.

Habraka Abrivianius made the following promise in the comments section of his article:

"In the case Belgium would become independent once again, the Regional Bank of Flanders will be investing several hundred Gold to get the Belgian economy up and running as fast as possible, by purchasing inactive companies and even starting new ones where needed, to supply the Belgian market and to provide jobs to our countrymen."

A real noble promise. Flanders is however still waiting for these investments by reallife Flemish, Habraka. Him breaking his promises also means I cannot see the Flemish economy improving in the near future. There are hardly BEF available on the market and the Romanians have little resources to work with. New players who join this game with a lot of hope, start out in a broke country without jobs and without money, which is highly unfortunate. Habraka has both the BEF and the gold to get the Flemish economy started, so where is he?

And then there is the lack of real support from EDEN nations. You would think they would support the nations they liberate. You would think they would believe the lies they are trying to sell the world about their noble causes to liberate nations and support these. Signing alliances alone just isn't enough to win the real Belgian population over.

It seems the 'independence' has not been thought through very well, especially if the aim was to get Belgium back on the map with Belgians living in it. If it was meant to liberate Flanders as an EDEN outpost, my conclusions about Flemish economy don't really matter, because then the Flemish don't really need a good economy.

Either way, I see a lot of pointless loss of money in the foreseeable future and little to really gain from this little EDEN outpost. It seems 'The Group' has to do everything on their own, having to manage with the little resources independent Flanders has. Where are the liberators now? Why aren't they assisting their friends in Flanders? I nearly feel sorry for the guys from 'The Group' because of the lack of assistance they are getting, but I mostly feel sorry for the new reallife Belgians joining this game and starting in such a lousy situation. If they need help, they should read my 'ps.' message at the bottom.

ps. Belgians can request food or moving tickets from the eBenelux (UNL) government by contacting SOartem. With the food you will be able to live and with the moving ticket you can move to eBenelux to be able to get a job.
