First Impressions are Best Impressions

Day 830, 11:17 Published in Denmark Sweden by Grev Per

Now you all know me as a fair and reasonable person. That's also what I tell people all the time so that they'll believe it.

And you may have noticed how I sort of lashed out at the most recent incarnation of the communist movement in Denmark. In fact it's something I've written a lot about. I sort of felt a little guilty while doing it as they hadn't really done anything other than being lame.

But now I feel completely vindicated in everything I said about them. They are lame, and thankfully they are also lame as human beings. Which is awesome because then I have no qualms with anything I said about ridiculously uncreative people trying to establish poorly thought out, and half-ignorant implementations of Marxism in erepublik. It's always baffled me that people will be socialists without ever researching the history of socialism, or read marxist literature other than a superficial glance over the surface.

It then becomes so obvious that it's just a passing fad for the lazy-pseudo-intellectual who wants to distinguish himself from the rest of his lame social circle, by out-laming them. It's not hard to convincingly be a socialist because most people know nothing about socialism anyways. And it's sort of edgy to people over 60, time-travellers from the cold-war, and lame internet conservatives/libertarians. But when you don't even understand the proper definition of 'socialism' as defined by Marx, that's just plain embarrassing. And by the way, the Communist movement in Denmark does not understand the Marxist definition of socialism. Which is defined as the transitory stage between capitalism and communism, where the state plays an active role in the class struggle. It's not 'communism-lite'.

But enough about the glaring ignorance they have of their own ideology, let's talk about the glaring lameness in a person who knows only the superficial substance of socialism, yet still spends his time trying to re-create their lazy assumptions of an ideology which functions more as a mystical and confusing religion, than as a tool of analysis. And I'm being entirely and completely fair as I've written numerous comments and suggestions on how to make their brand of socialism less lame and more cool. Of course being so lame, they ignored and most likely were against any conceivably interesting implementation and application of Marxism in erepublik. But back to my point, only lame people try to role-play their IRL political beliefs in a political simulator because they are lame and boring, just like most real-life communists who use communism as a fashion and definition of themselves as a person.

Also you know their's a glaring problem with a communist whose most immediately noticable character trait is ambition and selfishness. If those are the words associated with your communist movement, you know you screwed up your understanding of Marxism in almost every conceivable way. Which of course is easy when you really know nothing about it.

And for the record I used to be a socialist, I vote for the socialist party of Denmark irl (which despite the name is more like the left-wing of the Social-Democratic party). But when I was a socialist I read constantly on the history of socialism in the world, and Marxist literature. It wasn't half-assed intellectualism, it was full-assed intellectualism.

Anyways this was fun. 🙂
