Hello all and welcome to Raging Reviews!

It's clearly ranting.

I have decided to create my publication around reviews of just about anything! Be it, eRep politics, real world current affairs or anything.

I welcome any suggestions for future reviews.

First note - Q3 training grounds are here! I am wondering if they will release a schedule for when the Q4 and Q5 will come out??

Onto other things.

Article number one is about the Mistborn Trilogy.

To begin, I will tell you a little bit about the author; Brandon Sanderson.

Born in American, he attained a Master Degree in creative writing after which he went straight into writing fiction. He is, currently, most well known for being asked to complete the, ground-breaking, Wheel of Time series after the untimely death of Robert Jordan. It was the Mistborn Trilogy that lead Robert Jordan’s wife in to asking Brandon to complete the WoT series.

Onto the Mistborn Trilogy. There are currently four books based within this world. The ones I will review are: The Final Empire, The Well of Ascension and The Hero of Ages. These three books make up the Mistborn Trilogy, with The Alloy of Law being a standalone publication within the same world.

Today's article will be on the first book of the series.

The Final Empire begins showing us the dystopian world of the Final Empire. The Lord Ruler is the unquestionable dictator of this post-apocalyptic world in which, our protagonist, Vin resides. She is a street urchin who grew up as a thief. When Kelsier turns up in the city of Luthanel the world, especially for Vin, changes forever.

Kelsier is a Mistborn, granting him special powers through use of the Allomantic metals. It is soon discovered that Vin also possesses these same powers. As Kelsier begins to train Vin in the use of Allomancy, he also begins to form a team for assisting the resistance against the Lord Ruler.

As part of the plot to overthrow the Lord Ruler, Vin is thrust into the distorted world of the nobility, where she meets Elend Venture. It soon becomes apparent that they may have a deeper connection, which bypasses any class issues.

In the meantime, the training of the resistance forces comes to an abrupt end by some rash decisions by the commanders. Reeling from this shock, the resistance is forced into action.

As the confrontation with the Lord Ruler occurs, Vins unexpected relationship with the nobleman Elend Venture suddenly comes to the fore and Kelsiers final sacrifice as more ramifications than any could imagine!

Next week, we will look at book two - The Well of Ascension.
