Finding Common Sense

Day 612, 04:39 Published in Japan Japan by Akki

In era of new great world conflict, the World War IV, Japan has been caught in unique position being strategically placed between 2 hostile nations: The United States of America and Indonesia. In the critical and difficult congress decision, the Nation of Japan decided to go along with its allies in PEACE Global community and our allies in China and Indonesia to take the side which was most appealing and less devastating of the two options in the late night discussion to decide the lesser evils of the two Japan was boarders by. However, Japan was no winner from such situation. The nation of Japan now has split into two trying to improve the nation by trying to push forward their agenda, and ridiculing each other in what seems now as a mud wrestling competition to see who can throw each other into the mud the best.

However, to ordinary citizens, it should look clear and should be a common sense to them that neither side is in fact improving the nation like they claim and neither side is creating the “righteous nation” that they use to back their argument. Their plan and argument is so “righteous” that one side call for blind following of the government or placing military above all other priority to create army capable of “fending off our enemies.” Yet another side calls for the betrayal of our entire past friend that we have created; friends that has once helped us against PTO attempt from Mafia, and to serve as the dog or a maiden to the other power which is fueling the World War: in other words, they suggest us to become the pawns of the other power.

In such situation, we are lacking any middle ground to this problem and both sides are pushing their extreme agenda to agitate the other side. I question all citizens who are currently engaged in this argument or those who have not taken side, how we can improve the nation by splintering into two hostile camps pushing for their extremes while ignoring all the middle ground? A nation cannot balance and continue on the right pass if each side is trying to place more weight on their side than the other side. Unless some compromise or some middle ground is found, there is no way for our nation to neither continue nor pursue the “righteousness” which both sides strive for. A campaign against each other can only do damage to our nation. While I do not suggest it is wrong to voice your opinion, finding faults at each other’s argument only create more tension and NO solution.

Instead of finding fault in each other, we need to find solution. Instead of lamenting about the problem, we need to solve the problem. Arguing who is responsible for the problem only delays and deepens the problem we already have. What good will it does to argue about the problem when neither side offers solution to the problems we are facing right now? There are those who will defend the current government; that is something to be understood. However, they must accept that there are indeed problems, and they require solutions. They must (with their pro-government friends) present their solution to the problem first, before slashing against those who do not agree with them. Also, it is something to be understood that there are those who disagrees with the current government. That is fine, since that is how a democracy works. However they must still accept the fact that there are those on the other side that is doing their job to protect our nation, and trying to fix those problems. There must be some respect that must be given to those who are working, for they are doing their job whether you agree with them or not. Destructive criticism does nothing to help the nation other than to help it break apart. They must instead voice their belief of the solution, and present their side of the argument with a reason why it will work better than the current government plan. This way at least something constructive is being made from the argument and disagreement: a common ground to the problem. At least this way, although neither side will be 100% satisfied, you are helping the nation improve.

What I ask is compromise between two groups that are creating tension in Japan that is neither improving the nation, nor helping it become more “righteous.” We must all accept that neither side is 100% correct, nor has complete support within eJapan. I am not saying to completely support your government nor trust it for that is simply ridiculous. Government itself is corrupt, frail and force that interferes with the daily lives of the citizens within its borders. It is only natural that with increase of the government powers, there will be increase in mistrust which will originate from the potential power that government could hold over each citizen. That is natural reaction with dealing with something that has more power, and more control over you. However, even in such situation, we must not forget that there are people who are working within it to try to make our country better, and improve each citizen’s life, while trying to create safe land for our citizens to live on. We must give some respect to those who are doing their job for what they feel is right even when we do not agree with them; that still does not change the fact that they are doing their best.

I do not feel it is possible to create total unity, nor create total subjugation of the citizens under the government. However, both side must understand, that our country cannot survive, when our citizens and our congressmen are spread apart thin into many degree of extremism to push their self interest believing they are 100% right. Perhaps such promotion of extremism may bring short lived fame; nevertheless it will not help the nation progress in the long run. We must be working toward long term improvement of our nation, and we must understand there will be some short set back during sometimes, when we are faced under the force that we cannot control. However, if we panic over such small set back every time it happens and break apart into two hostile camps ridiculing each other, our nation can get nowhere in the long run. We must not allow worse part of us gain control of us. There must be some degree of toleration by each person to progress into direction that could satisfy the needs of the mass.

It is impossible to create a system that is perfect when we are imperfect to begin with. Let us not strive to create a perfect system instantly. Rather, let us improve what we have now to try to approach that perfect system. We cannot change what has happened in the past. That is already a done deed. We must learn from the past, and continue on to the future. We cannot bring all the changes we want to bring instantly, thus let us look forward to long term stability and long term improvements to preserve what we have from the past and slowly curve it and improve it to progress the nation. We should not be aiming for uncontrolled sudden changes. We should look for controlled long term change that will be stable and allow our country to progress slowly but surely. We must drop our bickering, bring both side’s solution and argument into the table and start making some compromise to find some common grounds. We all love this country and would like to help progress and improve it; that is common sense. So instead of stopping now, let us try to conserve our past and progress into our future.

So both sides please just drop the hostile destructive criticism and start bringing solutions and constructive criticism into the nation, and regain our common sense.
