F Company Battle Statistics - Poitou
Steve Bee
Soldiers...I am pissed off. We have been keeping close track of battle statistics in Poitou and I am VERY disappointed in the numbers that are in front of my face.
You can view the numbers here: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pAECW2h2GIMNHIWPMDQsRZA
These numbers were checked all throughout the battle by myself, czeckmaster, and the Platoon Leaders. Meticulously updating them was a pain, but we felt like it was needed to see what actually is going on in our Company. Sure, people can respond to roll calls and whatnot, but are they actually getting their asses in gear and fighting the enemy...
Clearly, the answer is NO.
Some key points from these numbers:
- Not one Platoon had more than 50% of its members actively engaged in combat
- There were only 82 total fights from F Company. This averages out to be only 1.67 fights per soldier in F Company.
- F Company only amassed 1,847 total force, with 1090 of this force coming from Officers alone.
What is this telling us? Well for one thing, we have some major problems to work out. Also, I suspect that similar numbers could be found in most Platoons in the Army.
We need a solution.
Chahk Noir, Captain of Golf Company has graciously put forward his services to edit this Force Sheet to auto-update itself. Thus, we will always be able to tell how much Force our soldiers are dealing from day to day. I URGE ALL MILITARY LEADERS TO CONSIDER IMPLEMENTING THIS METHOD TO ALL PLATOONS. We need to keep track of who is fighting and who is not. Weapons supplies could be just wasting away or being sold instead of being used properly.
F Company Platoon Leaders: Thank you for doing your duty for the Army. You fought valiantly and I am proud of you. Now, we must fix what is wrong. View the sheet, and I want you to personally message each soldier who did not fight and ask them a simple question: why? We need some accountability for their non-action. Compile the responses and send them to me via-PM. I will take a look at these reasons and see where we can improve.
That is all.

Glad to see the officers are doing a great job, too bad we [ the plebs, I am a plt sgt but I wouldnt see myself as an officer hehe ] are not working as hard as you guys.
I like it. It would be a pain in the ass to update all the time, but you said Chahk could auto-update it? I'd urge the Generals to greatly consider it.
And rightfully you should be pissed off! A soldier has every reason to fight even if barehanded. Both experience and wellness is in the best interest of a fighting citizen, especially beginners. Kudos for monitoring this and hopefully your work will bear fruits in the near future.
I am part of a different company but I would recommend the following:
I cannot see the doc/sheet, even after I log in. You say the officers did 59% of the total force in damage. Also that 82 fights averaged 1.67 per solider so I'm guessing there's ~49 soldiers in your company.
Assuming there are 4 officers each contributing about 250 damage using Q3 weapons, 6 strength, fighting 5 times.
If you gave out 82 Q1 weapons at ~$15 each it cost the army $1,230 for 1,847 total force. $0.66 per force point. Take your top 9 damage dealing soldiers and supply them with Q2 weapons instead of Q1. They'll do ~40 damage per fight or ~200 per day. 1,800 total force. At $23.20 current market price for Q2 weapons it'll cost $1,044 per day to supply your new improved company with weapons. A savings of $186 or 18%. It now costs 0.58 per force point if only these 9 people fight.
If all the other stayed in the army and fought bare knuckle, it could cost as little at $0.26 per force point.
Realistically, you would except maybe 20% to stay in the company. The top 9-10 soldiers are supplied with weapons and do the same damage ~50 used to do with almost 20% savings. It also makes dispatching and informing your company much less cumbersome and less officers are needed.
Sounds like a great idea. I'd love to see this implemented so we can keep our soldiers accountable.
Great Idea. It will save us alot of time and make our military more effective. If we get this implemented, we can kick out all the inactives hanging aground for a free ride.
Alright you can see the spreadsheet now 😛
We should get Pearl on here so that he can code the docs to auto-update. Voted.
Voted. I'm pissed too. I had personally messaged all soldiers in my platoon that weren't in Florida prior to the fight and told them to get there. Not only that, I offered to personally purchase any moving tickets they needed to do it. Still, nothing. Only one or two actually responded and moved. Some troops I haven't even heard from since Roll Call. This is unacceptable and they know it. Currently I'm turning over two or three troops a week due to inactivity. Something needs to change.
Thank you Steve Bee. 🙂 I can see them now. It looks like you have 5 officers and yourself. It appears based on your "new fights" and
"new damage" that you are mostly all using Q1 weapons.
Take yourself, your 5 officers (whom all fought at least twice) and 3-4 of your strongest, most active soldiers and supply them with Q2 weapons. You'll do similar damage at 20% less cost to the army. You'll also have to inform 40 less people about the upcoming battles.
Should you desire to keep all of your platoon. Enable the spreadsheet to update itself. Hold tryouts, the strongest, highest ranking military soldiers are supplied with Q2 weapons everyone else is allowed to stay on if they wish to stay apart of the flow of information. The competitive nature will weed out those you do not want dragging down the eTreasury.
A few thoughts. I wasnt able to fight because I only sign on once a day with my busy schedule as of late and i signed on early the 26th ,because of family event in the afternoon, before we attacked and late on the 27th, from being hungover from said event, after the fighting was done. If there was some type of warning through PM or eMail in advance I would have atleast signed on early and faught. Some heads up would be nice and I know its more Benn's Fault then any of the armies but there needs to be more notification.
Second I am an ex-Squad Leader and I know its a pain in the ass getting Soldiers to fight correctly, I had one Soldier who after i got done explaining how to fight properly went off faught used the hospital and then proceeded to fight til he had less then 20 Wellness asked me for more so i explained to him what he did wrong and made him explain back to me how to fight so i knew he knew how and then Gifted him with gifts i payed for, so he could fight. You know what he did? He went and faught used the hospital and faught again till he was below 40. He messaged me asking for help again, I asked why he didn't fight like i told him too and he told me he didn't have to listen to me. So I told him i didnt need to give him wellness and he said it was my job to get him wellness and that all he needed to do was fight and that he didnt need to listen to me. He didnt stay in the squad long. lol wall o' text
But any ways the new spread looks like a good idea as long as soldiers don't get kicked for missing a fight here and there I understand getting rid of the ones who haven't fought a single fight yet.
I apologize for not fighting, I was unable to get to a computer most of the day and by the time I got home the battle was over.
Yesterday's battle was an unusual circumstance. It was a battle that started very late one day, so most people only had one day to fight. It's also Christmastime, so lower activity is to be expected.
The spreadsheet was designed to help increase Army activity, not to find new ways to fire people. So only people who consistently don't fight are at risk.
I am agreeing with all of these great comments. I know that battle times are something that is in the President's hands, and sometimes there are battles that the President can not get a long heads up for, and we will just have to do the best we can with what we have.
I strongly agree with czeckmaster. This spreadsheet will do more good than harm. We will be able to weed out the people who are consistently not putting up force numbers during battle and possibly reward soldiers who are doing what they are suppposed to be doing, thus making our military more efficient and effective.
Dear Steve and Patrick, I see that you are still keeping up the excellent job. I support the idea of tracking fighting performance records.
By the way, I'd hoped I'd have more timely excess to weapons and supplies but so far, it seems as if it is not the case. So, I believe we need an overall restructuring in the eUSA Army.

Excellent. The Marines needs this too.
F Company? Maybe we should start calling ourselves "F Troop".
