Excuse me, but WTF are you all doing?

Day 886, 15:36 Published in Australia Australia by Aeros

Raise your hand if you honestly have a good grasp of what is going on right now? To put it succinctly, the last 24 hours have left us students of eWarfare scratching our heads while trying to remember how to breathe. I’m going to do a quick recap here.

1. Croatia has invaded Hungarian home territory, and is winning.

2. China has attacked Heilongjiang AND Liaoning

3. India, Serbia, Pakistan and Iran are fighting over a parcel of territories. Russia was involved down there briefly with their abortive hit on Xinjiang.

4. Russia managed to capture Pommerania and is trying to take Berlin.

5. Romania has also invaded Hungarian home territory, and is winning.

6. Poland has managed to lose the Canary Islands to Brazil and Rhone Alps to Slovenia.

7. Spain is trying to retake Rhone Alps, and in their infinite wisdom, have attacked North of Brazil, triggering 18 MPP’s.

8. Indonesia is attacking US held Southern Thailand and Mindanao Phillipines.

9. Romania has invaded Bulgaria, and is losing

10. I think somewhere in this mess Turkey has managed to smack Israel. But that’s nothing new.

The number of battles that has been opened in the last 24 hours are so numerous, the 5 pages of international news are insufficient to cover them all.

Sums up EDEN’s strategy

These past few weeks, I have not been entirely active due to RL commitments, so maybe I have not been following eRepublik as well as I should be. I must confess though, that the list I have just shown you has left me quite perplexed as to what EDEN is trying to accomplish. I suppose the strategists in charge of this military debacle think that by spamming battles all over the place, they may have a chance to win some.

Phoenix of course, is using all the open battles to far greater effect then EDEN is. Brazil sniped Poland off of the Canary Islands, securing South America from the Polish border for now. The death blow for Poland came when Slovenia took down Rhone Alps, eliminating the Poles from Western Europe. Spain is now trying to pick up the pieces of Poland’s former empire, but its nothing more then trying to save the ship after its already been sunk.

But wait you say, what about the mighty advance of the Croatians and Romanians into Hungary? To put it bluntly, Phoenix is letting those two countries in. Unlike EDEN these past few months, Phoenix apparently understands the importance of sacrificing useless regions temporarily in the interest of permanent success. Because of Heilongjiang, Hungary cannot be wiped out, even if all its home territory is taken. A simple resistance war to bring Hungary back on the map of Europe will also bring along all of Hungary’s activated MPP’s and an inevitable counterattack. It is for this very reason that most military strategists state a countries colonies must be removed BEFORE an attack on the home territory. All this invasion of the Hungarian plain has accomplished is activating the MPP’s of the most dangerous nation in the Phoenix Alliance.

The cat say’s it all

But wait, there’s more! Spain has invaded North of Brazil. For the love of god WHY! What POSSIBLE benefit can there be to activating 18 MPP’s and throwing thousands of more Gold down the drain? All the thousands of Gold being spent here could have been used to try and wipe out Hungary in Heilongjiang! Something, I should point out, has to be done since two EDEN countries have just activated their MPP’s! And Unlike Hungary, both do NOT have Colonies, and thus can be wiped out in their home regions! Hungary is almost sure to try this now that they have their entire Alliance in the war stack. Will Spain be able to hold of Brazil if they are invaded along with Croatia and Romania?

Or maybe I am missing the big picture? Maybe this is EDEN’s plan after all. Go out in a fiery blaze of glory and bring back the glory day’s of the North American war. Only, instead of the USA fighting for its life, it will be Spain (again), Romania, and Croatia. We might as well throw Greece and China into the mix for good measure. Oh well, what can I say. At least the game is interesting again.
