ExCLusIVE InterVIEW with admin who remains anonymous.

It's been probably around a month or so, since the gameplay of eRepublik has changed drastically. The economy module was redesigned and has devalued the CC (Country Currency) and this decision has caused a lot of disappointment and uproar among the players of this wonderful game. Admins has stayed mum and no further explanation was published, so we have been left guessing how low can we go…. Until now…

We managed to get in touch with an Admin, who wants to stay anonymous, as he doesn't want to be in danger of losing all the privileges he enjoys administrating this people's game. After all, you dont want to saw off the branch you sit on… So, all it took was a blue envelope with undisclosed amount of some paper we call € and a guarantee, that the identity will be kept secret, and voila… we finally can get a few answers of whats going on inside Plato headquarters.

Without further ado, I introduce you an Interview with an anonymous admin ( AA ):

Q: Nice to meet you. First of all, I would like to thank you, that you took the time for us. All the players will be thankful for the information you can give us about the new economy and the market.

AA: Hello. Well, after you came with an offer in the envelope, I had no choice, really. We, as employees of eRepublik are obligated to take as much € as we can get from members of eRepublik community. So I was just doing my job. Taking RL money from you.

Q: Hmm, I figured as much, yes. But still, if we have to pay for everything in the game with gold, which cost RL money, we decided, what the heck, a little more won't kill us, after all, everywhere in the world you have to pay for insider information.

AA: I like your thinking : )

Q: Let's get to the point. How is the feeling inside the developers team. Are you happy with the latest changes you made?

AA: Definitely.

Q: Care to elaborate a little further ?

AA: No explanation needed. If economy sucks, people need to spend more RL money. More profits for us.

Q: But don't you think you have gone a little to far with crashing the value of produced goods? I mean, nobody can make any profit from it. People who own raw materials companies have seen the selling price drop about 66% in the last month.

AA: They should buy weapons or food factory then. We give them an opportunity to do so, every day. You have to invest some to gain some.

Q: Hmm… Thats right, but that costs gold.

AA: Yes. And we sell gold. Even have a discount on it every other day.

Q: Even if a player decides to invest in weapons or food company, he has to get the highest Q of a company to even make some profit. Lower level companies are just useless, so i guess you need around 600 gold to start, that's around what…. 200 €… and you are set to reap the fruits of real money investment and you can buy lots of gold of the monetary market with the profits of the investment, right ?

AA: Umm, not really… I mean yes, you have to invest 200€ for a Q6 company, but the profits are minimal.

Q: So you cant… let's say… make enough profits with 200€ investment, so you can at at least buy gold for one training facility ?

AA: Not even close…

Q: Now I'm starting to get confused… So why invest 200€ in something, that doesn’t get you enough profits in game to justify the investment?

AA: Prestige really. You can then shout everyday every hour, that you are selling Q6 tanks, and be important in the community.

Q: Ahh, Ok. I figured there had to be some logic behind all this.

AA: Of course. There always is.

Q: One group of players that are really really affected by all of these changes is a group, that should really be very important to you. The beginners.. you know… the new guys.

AA: What about them ? They can still play the game.

Q: Yes they can, but they cannot start with any hope that someday they will be able to afford to pay for daily food and weapons by themselves. They are totally dependant on all the senior players, to help them out, so they can at least make few fights a day.

AA: Well they can buy gold with RL money and kickstart their bussiness side of game.

Q: Yeah, 200€ for minimal profits per day.

AA: Exactly.

* I had to go to market to adjust the selling prices, as bot has stoped buying raw at 0,10 CC and started buying for 0.09 CC... can't miss a minute of making profits, right? 😉
