eUK vs Portugal: Allies

Day 1,853, 03:12 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by HebronGazelle

You should know that the eUK is going to war with Portugal, but war is not as simple as that. Both sides have allies, and these allies have the power to change the shape of the war. These allies will deal most of the damage in the war, and it will be because of them if the invasion succeeds.

Who's On Who's Side?
Both sides have allies in the game called MPP's. These MPP's will fight for the countries to deal colossal amounts of damage. The eUK has 13 MPP's while Portugal has 17.

The eUK's top 4 damage dealing MPP's in the past week were Serbia, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Hungary. Between those 4 countries they managed to hit with 74.6 billion damage. This compares to Romania, Turkey, Greece and Croatia's 68.3 billion who are allies of Portugal. This is a large amount of damage as the eUK only dealt 3.5 billion and Portugal dealt 3.3 billion. Here's a chart showing you the figures.

Serbia are the 2nd biggest hitters this week, just behind Poland.
So, Can They Directly Help?
If a country can directly help the eUK or Portugal in the war, then that will be a major boost to the side as it opens up more fronts for the other side to try and win. Damage will be split and organisation becomes harder. The countries with the ability to join are Spain, Serbia, Poland, Italy, Brazil, Canada, USA and Mexico.

Portugal are surrounded by allies and enemies.

As you can see from the map above, there are various countries near to Portugal which have to ability to join in the war. To the north there is Poland and Serbia. These are the UK's two strongest allies, dealing massive amounts of damage and always making new borders. These two cannot directly join the fighting unless Spain lets them pass through those regions.

Italy is an ally of Portugal. They are not the strongest of countries in the game but can attack Spain and disrupt plans in the area. They would have the backing of strong allies such as Greece and Turkey to help with an invasion.

To the west, and in South America, there is Brazil. Due to the other countries in South America having weak armies, Brazil could easily join in the fighting by advancing to Europe. This would be unlikely unless Portugal and their allies began to take control of Western Europe during this war. However, Poland and Serbia are two countries which are more likely to keep this under control.

Canada, USA and Mexico can all join the fighting too, from the region of Azores. Azores is the region which the UK plans to take, but any of those countries could also attack that region. Canada is likely to stay neutral in direct fighting even though they are allies of Portugal. The USA is another country which is likely to stay neutral as they have friends on both sides of the war. Mexico is also unlikely to join the fighting directly, they are a weaker ally of the UK.
Does This Mean A Huge European War?
Most likely not. There are always wars going on in Europe and most of them do not involve many countries directly fighting. It is likely that it will just be the eUK fighting against Portugal, with possible interruptions from Spain to help the eUK succeed.

If Portugal manages to free any regions from Spain then we will attack the region and control it. Portugal could see this as an opportunity to gain freedom and get there regions back. That would be the reason for this war to grow and get more countries involved. If Portugal tries this then there will be other countries like Brazil, Spain and Serbia getting in to help the eUK.

This will be the most exciting thing to happen to the eUK for a while, but it probably wont excite the rest of Europe too much.
