ESO and TUP: I'm with stupid.

Greetings again, citizens of the eUK.

It's been a while.

This article's a rather specific one, and it pertains to the following articles:

Article I
Article II
Article III

Now that I've given you some homework to read, let's skip to it. If you would, begin by opening any one of the three links above. Hold your mouse in your normal mouse hand and lightly brush your index finger across the wheel, downward, toward the comment section.

Do you see anything funny?

This is what I see.

It's a sad fact of life that it's always the dumbest people that have the loudest voices, and let it be said that both parties have made it known this time.

Do you realise what you represent? You are the two largest parties in the eUK, and yet, as the image above depicts, you sat there like babies crying at one another about something so impossibly moronic that it really should have stayed out of the comments. This kind of nonsense isn't even about vote-buying. It's not about the integrity of an article, about how it should be measured by the quality of writing or entertainment value.

No, it's about two kids punching each other in a playground and coming up with an excuse for it at the end.

Let's be clear about this, parties. You're entitled to an opinion. You're welcome to share it. You should not be about mudslinging for the sake of it - particularly right after a baby boom where we're trying to maximise player retention. There are forums for this - there is IRC, there are the eUK forums, there are better ways than this. Take a look at these quotes for example:

Iain Keers:

>because TUP
>comment by UKRP member

obviously you're a genius BigAnt

BigAnt:

[...] because your a genius Keers? Don't tell anyone what to do, if your own party does it yeah

Absolute nonsense, and certainly not what any party - let alone the two leading ones - of the eUK wants to be offering as their image.

Hopefully you’ve learned something today, oh wise and benevolent parties of the eUK. BigAnt’s stopped vote buying now, so let’s pray that’s enough, but like I say: I don’t believe that it was ever about that on either party’s side. Let’s make politics about the issue and not the parties for once.

I want to leave the issue on a good note. The good thing we - and in particular the new players - should take from this is that, much like the well known Pandora’s box, it’s not all grim. We have one small relief from the violent poo-spewing of our leading parties: They are as fickle as Lily Summers in a group of men. Sure, they may fight their “cause” with the offensive, argumentative attitude of Entourage's Ari Gold on steroids, but they also get bored pretty quickly. I guess we’re safe.

Until the next slightly contentious issue, Llort out.
