eRepublik Democracy Day

Day 907, 03:48 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Artela

Today is one of those days where people who belong to political parties get to exercise their right to vote for a new Party President. I strongly urge all party members (of whichever party) to use their votes and exercise that democratic right.

Democracies are founded on freedoms. The freedom to have a say in who runs your country. The freedom to have a say in who runs your political party. The freedom to voice your opinions and to express yourself. The freedom to believe in what you want to believe in, be that in religion or politics. The freedom to help determine your own future. I strongly believe in such freedoms.

Of course, with freedoms come responsibilities. The responsibility to vote with your conscience. The responsibility to temper what you say so that it does not impinge on the freedoms of others. The responsibility to work with others to create the society you want to see. The responsibility to not impose your views on others. The responsibility to be a good citizen. I also believe strongly in these responsibilities.

So come on all you ditherers, all you undecideds out there... if you're in a political party use that vote. Be responsible, but be free.

And for all who are interested, here is Jodie, one of the kittens from my last campaign. She's doing well!
