eRep In Maps- Day 760, December 19 2009 | Iranian Edition

Day 761, 00:04 Published in Iran South Africa by Brendan E Austerion
Introduction

Hey all! This is the second day of my doing eRep in Maps, and once again I’d like to thank Mainegreen for letting me use his symbols and giving me the inspiration to do the cartography itself, tedious as it may be. The response has been overwhelming 😃

I’m experimenting with image sizes for optimization on the article page, too. Still working out some kinks 😉

Also, yesterday I messed up a bit with the coding and images- such as the link for Laurentiu L and marking Chagang and Pyongan oppositely- Pyongan started instead of finishing, and vice-versa for Chagang. Whoops!
EDIT: In Saxony I marked Poland as Phoenix and Germany as EDEN, too, a fact kindly pointed to me by FelixVelitus. D’oh on my part! Later noted by Seamus Harper as well.

Aaand finally, Guolin and I have agreed to work together: we’ll switch between the two papers each day, toggling. More details found here. So remember- subscribe to both of us! XP

Key

Europe and the Middle East

Greece attacked the Aegean Coast of Turkey and Israel attacked the Mediterranean Coast of Turkey, denying Turkey the initiative with Greece’s attack on the Mediterranean Coast of Turkey soon to end in defeat, as well as splitting Phoenix forces and draining damage for Liaoning.

Following this, Greece predictably lost in Mediterranean Coast of Turkey, with a wall of 2 million points built up by Phoenix by the end of the battle and no serious EDEN resistance. Battle heroes were Bic deWille, a Swedish EMC FM getting his 23rd battle hero with a 10.5k damage effort, and Diabolus1907, doing 7k damage to get a 34th award.

Sweden attacked Danish region Nordjylland, continuing the tradition of making Denmark the playground of other powers. For its part Denmark seems quite content with this. This was probably done to let Sweden attack Germany again.

Saxony Battle
Germany attacked Polish-held Saxony in another effort to counterattack right before…

Saxony RW
The RW started yesterday failed. Both battle heroes were Polish, FM Sadix getting his 42rd and GROM FM and eRepublik ambassador BuzzY getting his 5th. Presumably BuzzY fought for the resistance to get a cheap (relatively) battle hero award.

The Slovenian distraction battle in Lika and Gorski Kotar, Croatia, predictably failed with a giant wall near the end of the battle (or so I believe). Sadix got his second battle hero of the day (wow) getting his 43rd defending Croatia; Slovenian FM StiH got his 4th medal, fighting for the attack.

EDIT

Russia's Congress failed to impeach their President shortly before he was banned for multi's, meaning they can't impeach him for a while, and thus the trump card Russia held in the Asian theatre against the US is no longer. This qualifies for a D'oh medal 😃 XD Even more hilariously, it occured on the 18th of December, also known as Banhammer Day, the day Ajay Bruno got banned. WIN! (A bit late but it's awesome)

Many thanks for the idea Deleruin!

South America

Brazil returned Chimor, Lima and Northern Low Amazon to Peru.
By the way, about this: Peru has declared war on Brazil and would likely be able to block Brazil without activating MPP’s if Brazil had not returned the regions, allowing Australia to counterattack. This should probably have been marked as diabolical yesterday, but oh well 😛

Asia and Australia

Ryanggang
North Korea attacked Iranian-held Ryanggang before immediately retreating. Was this part of a grand conspiracy to make KasedY, President of North Korea, more money from a cheap battle hero? Or was it an initiative swap? Or something else I haven’t thought of? Only time… will tell. *turns off dramatic newscaster voice* More seriously, I’m not sure what this was done for except for initiative swapping, so I used that symbol.
The other battle hero was American Colonel Blood-Red_Sandman, grabbing the opportunity for a cheap battle hero- his first. While I certainly don’t begrudge him the medal and gold (hell, I’d love some gold myself), I would like to appeal to all Americans to follow DoD orders. A link is found at the bottom.

Brazil attacked the Aussie region of South Australia to maintain initiative as it couldn’t beat the 1 million+ wall built up by EDEN’s two clicker corps in Queensland, thus blocking Aussie counterattack. The hero for the Brazilians in Queensland was brunno, the Brazilian FM’s fifth; for the Aussies it was American FM Max McFarland 2, getting his 9th.

Serbian NEC started a resistance war in Shandong, likely to drain US damage. For god’s sake don’t fight there. Obey DoD orders as stated.
Also, I’ve marked China as the attackers since they’re the original owners of the region, but the alliance as Phoenix since that’s the alliance behind the RW. This does not mean that China is in Phoenix; just as yesterday, Israel wasn’t in EDEN yet EDEN was the alliance indicated due to its operation in Israel.
Chagang
The Iranian-started resistance in Chagang failed. Perhaps this was a training war? I’ve marked it as a failed resistance war due to a lack of knowledge. Iranian FM Agha rahman got a battle hero medal- his 9th- for the resistance, and Serbian FM fib got his 2nd, fighting for the defenders.

Liaoning! The battle we’ve all been waiting for! Special image for attack today- Santa Harlot is coming to town and wishes Iran an early Merry Christmas! 😃 (Bahahahaha @ picture)

Americans Jankems and Publius began resistance wars in Ryanggang and Chagang respectively, distracting Iranian two-clickers. Yet another appeal to Americans: follow DoD orders and don’t go to Iran for the easy battle hero in those RWs. Remember, Harlot Claus knows who’s been naughty and who’s been nice 😉 XD

NOTE about the image: Sorry about the circle’s poor quality- it should get better when I install GIMP. Also, I need to figure out how to mark the attacker in RW’s: based on the original country or the country the citizen who started it is a citizen of? So far I’ve marked the original country when the citizen who started it doesn’t appear to be doing stuff with national authorization, and when it’s with national authorization as is obvious in Ryanggang and Chagang the country of the citizen(s) is/are marked. I’m sure Mainegreen or Guolin will know though. *goes and asks them*

Chungcheongbuk-do’s RW drew to a close, with the wall at approximately 10.5k points 35 minutes before battle-end. It ended with the region being secured by Japan, with battle heroes Hungary’s Ivica Mornar and Japan’s axyllene for the resistance and defenders respectively. Congratulations.

Training Wars

The Malaysian-Philippine training war in Sabah opened again. Once more opponents rush onto the battlefield wielding their Nerf guns. This will be a fight to the death. Winner takes all.
