As usual, let me start by saying you must visit eGobba's World Map. This tool is invaluable to anyone, especially in helping me try and collect the visual representation of what the heck is going on in eRep.
In order to understand these maps here is the legen😛
Included below the continental pictures is a link to allow you to see a larger version of the image.

Spain is so complicated, and the space is so limited that I have broken out the action into an image per item. Hope this helps keep things clear. Also, I would like to point out that Pangolin is kicking butt doing Europe.
North America
The final battle begins....

* A resistance has started in Alberta against the UK occupiers by q_qlka, a Polish citizen on behalf of Canada. Already it looks like Portuguese super tank Euphonix is going for another battle hero award.
* The big one. New Jersey. One of the two big fortress states of North America. Russia attacked it today, starting what could possibly be the final act.
* Rhode Island and Providence Plantations was conquered by Russia. The American hero was Rafa_ciantez, a Turk. Based on all evidence this appears to be a battle hero award grab, as the loss of the region was guaranteed, as America was not defending it. This was Rafa_ciantez's first award. The Russian hero was Shadowkiller, a Hungarian.
Europe
Spain's last gasp? Turkey still wants their territory back. A cleverly disguised battle and an epic fail.

* France attacked Murcia, the last non-fortress Spanish territory, shortly before...
* France occupied the Valencian Community. The hero for Spain was the half evil Polish tank, Sadix. The hero for France was the Indonesian dimul77, his first award.
* Zsolt Patakhy, a Hungarian, began a resistance war in Valencian Community. French battle orders are to fight red and liberate Valencian Community. If this region is returned to Spain, it will give France a cheap territory to attack to preserve the initiative. Also as pointed out by Aaron S, below in comments, by freeing the region, it will prevent the wars Spain has from closing. This is needed as well until Madrid falls. This landswap is a two fro one strategy wise. Marking as a landswap, with France vs France. Unusual, but it seems appropriate.
* The President of Spain retreated from Murcia, letting it be occupied by France. The hero for Spain was Patukas, a Spaniard. For France, the hero was theodeus who is a citizen of Australia.
* Running out of land to grab, France attacked the Spanish fortress of Madrid - which has 3467 citizens and a Q5 hospital and is the final Spanish High resource region.
* Brazil attacked Andalucia, Spain. This was the last territory in Spain not currently occupied or under attack, and has a Q5 hospital and defense system.
* A resistance war was started in Midtjylland by OchiReci, a Romanian tank and currently the 3rd ranked player in the eUK. Midtijylland is usually the home to the British training war. This was started to draw off uninformed UK citizens from the real battle, the Canadian resistance in Alberta. Diabolical. Well, manipulative at least. Excellent.
* Dnipro was secured by Hungary in the war versus the Ukrainian Land Swap. Despite Hungarian battle orders to liberate this territory and return it to Ukraine, and the Ukrainian government suggesting all of it's citizens move to Hungary to fight in this land swap, Hungarians were sufficiently confused by the unofficial beginning of this event to fight instinctively for Hungary. Worst. Land Swap. Ever. Granting a big fat Doh! for this one.
* Turkey attacked the Aegean Islands of Greece.
* Turkey then attacked Thrace, a Greek fort with a Q5 hospital and a Q4 defensive system.
Closing of Training wars
* See yesterday's map for locations.
* Samogitia was secured by Lithuania in their training war with Latvia
* Sabah remained Malaysian following their training war with the Philippines.

Disagree with your reasoning here. The reason I see is because it will prevent Spain from being the next Canada. This is the region they are going to leave for Spain to prevent the wars from closing. Any RW's that do succeed would quickly be recaptured with open wars.
It is a very dishonorable way to fight a war. Instead of finishing off the enemy with respect, they will leave them permanently paralized. The 'fight to the death' crowd in the US should anticipate a similiar tactic from the cowardly PEACE.

@Aaron S. I suspect you are partially right. However, as they are also going after Madrid, a fort, while PEACE assaults New Jersey drawing off PEACE tanks, there is a real possibility of failure. They will need another province to attack to prevent a counterattack from Madrid. I will alter the article to reflect both points.

Maingreen...Their alternative was Andalucia, when it was apparent that EDEN was sending units to the UK to help w/ Alberta, they realized that EDEN/FORTIS had conceeded that they didn't have the gold to keep up in Madrid. That's when Brazil went ahead and attacked Andalucia. Valencia will be returned before Andalucia ends so Spain will not cease to exist but be left with one territory, no infrastructure, and no hope of coming back with a clean slate.
If retaliation for past aggression is the reason for this war, then total occupation should be punishment enough. Long term inprisonment is a bit excessive and reveals the true motives behind this war...total world domination.
Of course this is my take on it all...I have no intimate knowledge of PEACE reasoning.
Also...I appreciate the service that you provide to the citizens of erep with your articles. I enjoy reading them daily, keep up the good work!

The problem is Spain could retreat Andalucia just before the battle in Madrid closes if they were winning, and then could go on the offensive from Madrid against France. If Valencia were returned just before Madrid closes, then France could re-attack it. Given the eRep battle closing time lags, and the narrow window of time, this would prevent the retreat->attack tactic.
This is the most I've thought about one battle I think. Thank you! Interesting. Truly the war module makes one think...

As always, your thoroughness does you justice. I doubt any other media outlet in the game has such a diverse spectrum of loyal followers.
If ever there were an in-game action that warranted an Ambassador medal from the Admins, this chronology with pictures (or is it a chronological pictograph?) on a daily basis definitely deserves that award.
