eRep's All Time Inspirations - Chapter 1
Major Lee Hung
Dear world,
I've been around for awhile now. I still remember the days when fighting too much without a Q5 hospital would essentially knock you out of the game for a few days - the era of strategy. Over the years, I've come across many people. Some good, some not so good, but they all create the experience that keeps us coming back.
So, this series has now been born. I plan to write about eRepublik players who have provided inspiration to the eWorld over the next few articles. Some I've had the pleasure of knowing at some point. Some I've never really spoken to, but they drove us all to play better.
These are players who were around when I was a noob. (Yesterday and before according to some!) I started out properly in the eUK, so the scope of my choices is a little limited for this era.
Jamesw is something of a cult name in the eUK. If something goes wrong, you blame it on him. His election strategies, and strategy in general, is what makes him one of the best ever CPs I've experienced. His support for the newer players were also a massive innovation in the early days.
My favourite ever time in the eUK was under a Mr Woldy term. The eUK at the time, much like today, was a small and rather insignificant force militarily. Under Woldy however, we began an invasion of a much larger eUSA. A massively fun and engaging term, our campaign was a large success with us holding Maine following the invasion.
I've never been on the same side as Romper, yet still hold a lot of respect for his tanking runs. He was the first ever truly major tank, doing the damage of entire countries every day. You still see him pop up every now and then in the battle, and the shouts of "ROMPER ALERT!" are still very much alive to this day.
Back in the day, Temujin was what people feared about eCanada. In the days when I was in other alliances to whichever eCanada was in at the time, him popping up on the battlefield for eCanada was a big moment - if you wanted to win, you'd immediately have to mobilise some friends to counter his damage. Despite eCanada being such a small nation, it's highly unusual that one player would hold a massive international reputation. This just goes to show that no matter how small your country, it can still make a massive difference with the work of just a few individuals.
Much success was attributed to eNew Zealand under this period. Beating back countries like eArgentina, eNew Zealand managed to remain on the map for long periods of time despite its very small size. He was also a strong part of the Slovenian community, another strong nation and again despite its size, a strong player in the European theatre.
Towards the latter part of his eLife, Don KronoX was a very strong advocate for change. He wanted the game to change - he wanted an end to the reverse progression, poor customer service and general Admin greed. Unfortunately however, as you see today, these efforts were in vain. A sad reminder of the demise of eRepublik those many moons ago.
This is the end for Part 1! I plan to release a few more parts, comment below with suggestions or players who have inspired you and why!

Who has inspired your eLife? 🙂
A guy called HazzN inspired me when I was an eNoob, I've always hoped I could inspire others to take a fun ethic toward the game so I'm glad you name dropped me. 😃
I'll look him up! 🙂
The search for culinary dishes was the best campaign hehe.
11 secret herbs and spices, iirc ;P
GGRyan was a source of inspiration to me back in 2010.
I remember that name!
Buck Roger, titan before all Titans!
Homer J Simpson
Kind words!
fully deserved 🙂
air inspires me... or the other way round.
Air is an interesting choice! 😛
Good article. I miss the days when Romper, ScymeX, and Rejep Dectash went around destroying everyone.
I was considering adding ScymeX and Argrob to this article, but I'll save them for the later articles I think!
When there were no divisions, it was always fun watching countries get steamrolled by individuals. (Except when it happened to your country, then it was Plato's fault!)
I forgot about Argrob.
He and Romper definitely created the old Croatian reputation! Those were fun times. It got so heated at one point that eRep started being advertised on national news in some countries, making massive "babybooms".
Next article: BattalGazi or Depici?
BattalGazi
Great article... and there's a lot of those disliking Mr Woldy. They are hiding in some shed now. 😃
They only lasted a few days, and their whole purpose was to steal money anyway hehe
Because Dio Brando had literally 0 effect on the real world. Nicest guy in the eWorld. Apparently he's a god now.
Anyway, let me tip a glass to: Origneel.NL, KITA Ikki, GLaDOS, Tanaka, Anton Sidequest, and King Waseem; the people who inspired me in my early eRep days. They may be gone now, but damned they were good men.
o7
I never really ran in to Dio Brando during my time, though Dioism was a big thing back in the old days! If anybody wanted to write a piece on him I can include him in a future article.
Then there was that one time where the Theocrat movement swept the globe. Huehue. Good times.
GLaDOS and I are bro's, u jelly
Temujin is a butt.
National butt of eCanada iirc 😉
Whar be any pirates? Arghh
temujin is a butt. x2
~hyuu~
~butt~
Was it TemujinBC that thought of the strategy of sending massive quantities of Q1 food to opposing tanks to slow down their tanking? (At the time, you needed to consume each food individually to be able to fight, so that single click-to-fight became click-5-times-to-gain-10-hp-to-fight-once.)
That is a pretty awesome strategy!
Temujin is a butt x3
Also, Plugson was probably the biggest influence on me here.
Temujin, get a new avatar already -.-
Apply with Madvieri to stay and get JMSPC to get u a shiny avatar
Temujin and Dycey Farley were probably my two biggest influences early on
I'll hoist a pint or three for Bhane. He's now left us, but was a player I always respected, even when I tried to impeach him 🙂
Lord Farhan, and Kravenn made me want to come back to eRep after a long break
There's only one player that has inspired Funky: Funky
Kronos Q is a baller. He really was a hero for me when I started erep.
