ePolish Government's statement on the Pol-Hun relations

Day 907, 12:24 Published in Hungary Poland by Minister Spraw Zagranicznych

Hello,

As you may have noticed, peace proposal between Hungary and Poland (probably the only one which has been negotiated by both govts, from all three recent PPs you were voting), went down.

As can be read in an article written by Hungarian Congress Chairman, esafrany, the peace was rejected, but:

However the Hungarian public and the Congress also would like to improve the relations with Poland, but due to the above mentioned reasons the Hungarian Congress decided to reject the peace proposal and calls upon both the Hungarian and the Polish Government to make the details of the agreement public to create clear atmosphere around such kind of important diplomatic actions.

This article is meant as an explanation we were asked for, so all trolls wanting to comment with caps lock key turned on can move to erepchan.

From our perspective, the war which spread out inside Europe during past weeks was an useless waste of time. For sure, we all enjoyed epic battles, flamed like hell and claimed that our alliance is surely the best one. The situation went back to normal, just like before, minus activated MPPs.

The only two countries which can be named as losers are, ironically, the only two countries trying to break the invisible barriers between two superalliances. Hungary got reduced to only one region, losing Heilongjiang, a high iron fortress in Asia. Poland is again back in cores, after the loss of Rhone Alps, a high wood region in France. No one else lost a single region, besides some tactical retreats. For us, both HLJ and RA are quite impossible to recapture.

Frankly, we can continue sitting in Europe and fighting over our, with all due respect, worthless core regions. We can burn our gold on attacks on Central Hungary or Mazuria. They're worth as much as high titanium.

Right after the invasion on Hungary was over, our governments contacted and agreed on some basis, which I would like to present below, according to your wish of creating a clear atmosphere around such things.

For the start, the biggest problem:

Does Poland want to conquer Podolia?

Oh hell yes, we do. There are however some serious demotivators on our way, which make this quest impossible. I'll simplify things a bit:

Ukrainian MPPs >>> Slovenian MPPs (in terms of possible firepower)
Slovenian MPPs >>> Poland (we saw that in Rhone Alps)

therefore

Ukrainian MPPs >>>>>> Poland 😛

We have two days to reach Podolia. The offensive will break at some point, leaving us stuck in cores, sad and miserable. As you can guess, all rumors appearing in Hungarian press aren't really serious. If we wanted to get erased for PHX money, we’d choose Kaliningrad.

What is our benefit of this peace?

Minus 17 MPPs. Well, we can keep them open and ask someone friendly to erase us. It's however a big mess, so we prefer to close all wars (not only with Hu) peacefully, using in game proposals.

What is your benefit of this peace?

One of three countries able to attack you is out of the war.
Your chances of survival increase dramatically.

What's more, closing the war gives us an opportunity to avoid distracting each other by blocks, drains etc. (once, when the contracts still existed, it was called a Non-Aggression Pact). Re-opening the war requires either DoW (lots of gold) or a chain reaction (Ukraine is the only possibility of triggering it atm) and thus activating another set of MPPs. As we already established, we’re not really into activating more MPPs.

Having the war opened leaves us in a stalemate. If you happen to cross nearby in a quest for high-something, we as an EDEN country may be forced to block or drain you.

Signing peace is a natural prolongation of the previous contacts between us. Right now, we are just when we started half a year ago. Sure, we can leave it that way and doom ourselves to play against each other for next few thousand eRep years. What's the profit for our two countries?

None.

Taking all above arguments into consideration we hope that the next Peace Proposal we will agree to sign in a close future will pass unanonimously in both Hungarian and Polish Congress and our common friendship will have more grounds to evolve.

Best wishes,

vingaer
