Epic Finale of V1 – Endgame for Croatia, Russia attacks Poland.

In the day 958 of the New World, starting with 2:00 eRepublik Time, we will disable the attack option. This means that no battle can be initiated with 24 hours before the downtime. All the battles started until that moment will remain active. Thanks for understanding.

This late statement from the Administration team drove Phoenix and Eden mad and both alliances hit just about everything before the closure of the war module. The battles started during Days 957-958 have long-lasting consequences, as the winner of these battles will control the region for at least a week with the opponent unable to do anything. The earlier deadline of starting attacks effectively denies Croatia from regaining Northwest Croatia before V2, and the region will stay Hungarian for a week at least. Croatia is now furiously trying to retain as much land as possible from Slovenia and Serbia, who got freed from blocks and launched an attack on Slavonia, the highest populated Croatian region and a source of grain.

While Croatia battles for their existence, Russia is trying to damage Poland on the eve of V2 by attacking both Polish regions bordering them while also attacking the American state of Alaska. Italy proved their loyalty to Eden as they swapped Spain through their lands to attack the Hungarian owned Rhone Alps. Sweden regained control of their southern region, allowing Germany to attack and entertain their babyboom. Also a myriad of distraction battles have been started, Poland attacking UK, Australia attacking Indonesia and Moldova attacking Ukraine. RW😒 have been started in Sindh, every single Polish-controlled American regions and in the various Italian regions controlled by Spain. Phoenix who refrained from attacking Eden territories are now going all in to severe major Eden nations just before V2, causing as much havoc as they can.

Eden, who didn’t have any viable options to attack are forced to defend themselves from the Phoenix menace and are facing the tough decision, should they tap the large V2 funds many Eden nations have saved during V1 already. It might prove to be wise to protect the nations under attack when Eden can still fight in the familiar V1 war module. V2 brings us nothing but uncertainty and no one can predict the power balance between nations and alliances yet. If USA makes a deal with Canada to rent titanium and Poland starts to benefit from the lease agreement they made with USA, Eden might prove to be superior, or Phoenix who seem to have larger migration percents, might overthrow Eden with the help of Russian resources and more dedicated population.

Day of destiny for Croatia.

Eden was outnumbered in the most important battle of Day 957, as Hungary conquered Northwest Croatia with overwhelming margins. Eden didn’t challenge Hungary during the final minutes to a tanking battle, but secured battles with lesser importance, lifting the walls in battles against Slovenia and saving South Africa’s most important region from Brazil.

As India didn’t have initiative over Serbia, Romania was blocked by Bulgaria and China was under attack in Heilongjiang, a region they can’t retreat under any circumstances, Serbia got free from blocks and unleashed as they attacked the critical Croatian region of Slavonia. The region is perhaps the most loaded battle site in terms of role playing importance. Serbia failed thrice to invade it by themselves, but now with the backing of MPP😒 they are extremely close to capture it and hold it for at least a week. Slovenia was able to continue attacks as well despite being defeated during Day 957, as they attacked Central Croatia, the Croatian capital before the defeats and after that immediately attacked both Istria-Kvarner and Lika and Gorski Kotar again. Spain tried to move through Italy and block Slovenia in Carinthia, an Austrian region Slovenia controls. Spanish president didn’t launch the attack on time though and Slovenia attacked Spain first.

Spain later retreated the region as Phoenix didn’t start a RW first, swapped through the Italian region of Piedmont and attacked Hungarian controlled Rhone Alps. Hungary was finally able to conclude a rental agreement with France, and they will probably start to inhabit the region after V2 launch, raising the cost of attack. Hungary however quickly raised the wall in Rhone Alps to 1 million, making it hard to take unless Spain tanks it considerably, abandoning Croatia in the process. On the other hand the attack diverted lots of Hungarian damage from Slavonia.

The Croatian congress is apparently falling to a primitive trap that might cost them the future of their nation. Croatia proposed peace to Serbia while being under attack in Slavonia, and the proposal has already got majority. This means that the proposal will reach Serbia’s congress’ desk after the battle, giving them the option to either continue the war, or if they win the battle tonight, agree to peace and take control of Slavonia. There is a precedent of this tactic. Australia fell in to the very same trap, handing Western Australia for free to Indonesia, but fortunately for them the region was relatively easy to take back during Operation World in Flames.
This is not the case with Serbia. Unlike Indonesia, Serbia is the strongest nation of Phoenix and they have immense authority inside the alliance. Slavonia is loaded with real life affiliations, and holding it might spark a baby boom for Serbia. They might even inhabit the region, making it extremely hard for Croatia, maybe even impossible to ever take it back. No nation has beaten Serbia in 1v1 combat to date.

Croatia’s future hangs in the balance. If they lose in Slavonia tonight, two out of three population centers are under hostile occupation, trapping over 5000 Croatians behind enemy lines. Slavonia is the economical center of Croatia as well, and losing it for a week or in the worst case scenario, indefinite amount of time is going to destroy their economy, weakening them severely. Losing Northwest Croatia was a tough punch to their gut already, as there is no way of getting it back for 7 days. Half of the nation occupied, Croatia might babyboom, but possibly having to fight 1vs1 against Serbia for the control of Slavonia might prove to be impossible.

To put it shortly, Croatia’s fate is decided tonight on the fields of Slavonia.

3 weeks ago HankScorpio, the Russian president, amazed the world by attacking Finland, China and USA, opening three MPP-stacks against his nation. He also got away from two impeach attempts, underlining his awesomeness. A notable American, Max McFarland 2 even sent him several hundred of Gold to attack Poland, but he didn’t do it. Instead, he saved the money for today, when he finally launched the fourth MPP-stack against his nation by attacking Mazuria and Pomerania.

The Baltic subcontinent has witnessed increased activity as Estonia and Lithuania erased the traitorous ex-member of Phoenix, Latvia. Latvia quickly saw rebirth as both regions occupied by Estonia were liberated with the help of American troops. Latvia proceeded to declare war on Lithuania and attacked the two regions they hold, Zemgale and Latgale. Poland, who Latvia signed a MPP with attacked Lithuanian grain region of Sudovia, and Russia responded by attacking Mazoria and Pomerania earlier today. The wall in Pomerania has already sunk below -800k from the secure line and Poland will likely lose it and the 3000 inhabitants get trapped behind the border.

Poland has to defend against the RW😒 started in regions occupied from USA as well, as the RW😒 can easily be ninja tanked when so much else is happening on other fronts. This reduces the damage they can put out in Slavonia, worsening Croatia’s situation even further.

Germany has got over 500 citizens daily starting from last weekend and their population is rapidly growing. The babyboom comes at the worst possible time however as V2 and the frozen week of war module might prove to be fatal for the new players. Sweden exposed themselves to an attack by taking Scania from Norway, and Germany has the possibility to fuel their baby boom by invading Sweden. They have active MPP😒 against them and Sweden has many regions which are cheap to attack, paving the way for a long and exciting war if Germany manages to keep the new players.

USA versus Russia – the first war of V2?

The American attack on Far Eastern Russia failed as expected, and as no new attacks against Russia were carried out before the loss, Russia got initiative and attacked Alaska today. The battle is irrelevant as Alaska is a bottleneck region and it can be retreated, exposing Russia to a block coming from Canada. The attack can however be the first set of a recap of the invasion America faced last summer. Though USA has Poland and Ireland inside them to help in tactical movements, Poland might very well be the next target for Phoenix as Croatia is crumbling and Phoenix takes the upper hand in the power balance. Hungary has activated MPP😒 against Poland, and if their original regions are under attack, they can’t help USA in the possible struggle against Russia. Ireland can be played out with RW😒, and France has MPP😒 against Canada, making a double-pronged attack on Northern America possible. The goal would be Canada’s titanium regions, which could be given to Phoenix nations such as Hungary or Serbia.

The battle of Alaska between USA and Russia will be the last one fought in V1.
