End of Week Wrap Up

Day 1,180, 20:57 Published in USA USA by Ace451

Salutations,

As most of you have noticed by now and if you haven't, then please don't read my article, that some big time schtuff went down over the course of the week, especially during the past 2-3 days.

Brazil Nuts, Anyone?
To start off with, let's take a look at what happened with Brozil. They were attacked in what the esteemed CRoy claims was the most important battle of the New Year so far, with Spain and their allies throwing themselves at the North of Brazil with reckless abandon. While to some this might seem insignificant, to the more worldly, it is more than just significant, it beckons in a new age on a global scale. Ever since the dissolution of Phoenix and EDEN, the former members of each alliance have been fighting the same old battles over and over again, seemingly without fail. But the North of Brazil saw the first clash between the new alliances PANAM and NWO, which means that new conflicts will hopefully begin to spring up and revitalize the player base of this game. It also was the testing grounds for each alliances ability to react and coordinate with each other, and PANAM won out!

That's right, first win is belong to us.

Good Media, Who Woulda Thunk It?
As of late, war reporting is the cool thing to do. Just look at Hobbitton and Sossu, they've got it all going on in that area, and many people are trying to mimic their success. I myself would attempt to do so if I was any good at that sort of stuff, but I realize I'm not. Unfortunately, many newbs don't realize that they don't have the gift to be a war reporter, yet still they publish poorly written articles about the subject and then rage quit when they don't get the votes they feel they deserve. Amidst all of this though, a young prodigy has emerged unto us, in the form of JLake4. His recent article on a potential invasion of America WW3-style is truly a gem and can be found here. He raises an interesting theory on plans of allies and enemies of the eUS alike uniting and going forth to conquer us. While this would be a bad thing, having our lands occupied by foreigners, it could also be a blessing in disguise. WW3 was before my time, but from what I've gathered on the topic, it was a time of excitement and unity on our front and probably some of the highest activity levels of our history. Not saying that I want this to become reality, but it would certainly make the game more interesting, no?

That's me holding off hordes of NWO lackies. Glorious.

Gossip and Guns
So we've all read the tell all by Dimension about his experience with censorship in the military and the overall stagnation of the eUS military and it's branches. This has set off ripples in our community and it will be interesting seeing how this all plays out. Many former presidents have come forward with their opinions on the subject and seem unanimous in their desire for the military to be made more accountable. One of the main problems I see here is that the military operates almost as if it is it's own private branch of the US, despite being funded by the eUS government and the Executive Branch. This leads to a disconnect between the two and, naturally, tension. I believe for anything to change on this front, with the end of the cycle of Military v. Government every several months, there must be a complete overhaul of military structure and who the military is accountable too.

Accountability: It's what all the cool kids are doing!

Well, that's it folks, a wrap up/recap of the past of few days tinged with my own personal feelings and observations. It's my newspaper, so if you don't like it, eat me.

I you, America,
