eBolivia es un país deshabitado con menos de 500 ciudadanos activos y disminuyendo aún más día tras día.

eBolivia is a uninhabited country, with less than 500 active citizens (and decreasing each new day).

Quiero aquí exponer mi punto de vista personal, sobre lo que yo considero son las causas de este fenómeno:

I want to expose here my particular point of view about what I consider the causes of this phenomenon:

a)Poco arraigo de los juegos en linea entre los internautas bolivianos: Las tarifas de internet en Bolivia son las más caras de Sudamérica, y entre las más caras del mundo, esto hace que los no muchos internautas bolivianos eviten hacer un uso supérfluo de la red como participar en juegos.

a) Weak popular support to online games between the Bolivians internet users: The cost of the Internet connection service in Bolivia is the most expensive in South America, and it is, even, among the most expensive in the whole world. This causes that the few Bolivians Internet users avoid using the net for superfluos things like playing games.



b) Disconformidad con la división política del mapa eBoliviano: Los bolivianos aman sus respectivas regiones, y se identifican principalmente con las mismas. Un orureño o un potosino que se registre y entre en este juego se preguntará: ¿Donde esta mi departamento? ¿Que burla es ésta del Bolivian Altiplano?
Obviamente con la actual división política del mapa eBoliviano, muchos jugadores bolivianos abandonarán el juego nada más probarlo.

b) Dissatisfaction with the political division in the eBolivian map: The bolivians love their respective regions, and they identify themselves mainly with them. An "Orureño" or a "Potosino" that signs in and begins playing this game may wonder: Where is my region? What kind of joke is this Bolivian Altiplano?
Obviously, with the actual political division of the eBolivian map, a lot of Bolivian players will quit the game almost inmmediatelly after giving it a try.



Una alternativa más realista con la identidad boliviana de división de regiones sería la siguiente:

1. Beni y Pando
2. La Paz
3. Santa Cruz
4. Oruro y Potosí
5. Cochabamba (Los cochalas son únicos, no se los puede juntar con otra región)
6. Chuquisaca y Tarija (lo ideal es que también estuvieran separados..)

Y por descontado, que lo del Bolivian Altiplano es inaceptable por ridículo y absurdo. Como ejemplo decir que más de la mitad del territorio de La Paz son fértiles valles, sabana e incluso selva amazónica.

A more realistic alternative according to the Bolivian identity would be the following:

1. Beni y Pando
2. La Paz
3. Santa Cruz
4. Oruro y Potosí
5. Cochabamba (The "Cochalas" are unique, you can´t merge them with any other region)
6. Chuquisaca y Tarija (It would be ideal if they could be splitted...)

And of course the "Bolivian Altiplano" is not acceptable, because it is ridiculous and absurd. As an example, more than a half of La Paz territory are fertile valleys, grassland and Amazonian jungle, not just Altiplano.

c)Razones psicológicas históricas: Los bolivianos aprenden en el colegio que su país perdió más de la mitad de su territorio en su poco menos de dos siglos de existencia contra todos sus vecinos. Esto significa que Bolivia en la vida real perdió más de un millón de kilómetros cuadrados repartidos entre Perú, Brasil, Paraguay, Argentina y Chile.

c) Pshycological-historical reasons: The Bolivians learn in school that their country lost more than a half of its territory, during its little less than two centuries of existence, against all of its neighbours. This means that Bolivia, in real life, lost more than one million square kilometers that were distributed between Peru, Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina and Chile.



Cuando un boliviano entra en este juego y ve la situación actual, situación que se ha ido dando desde hace tres años con altos y bajos (más bajos que altos), ese boliviano se siente frustrado y ve en el juego una representación de una realidad histórica que no quiere recordar ni reproducir, lo cual le desanima a seguir jugando. Al fin y al cabo, un juego es para divertirse, no para amargarse, cierto?

When a Bolivian enters this game and see the current situation, a situation that has been happening for the last three years, with high and low points (more low points than high ones), feels frustrated and sees in the game a representation of a historical reality that he doesn´t want neither to remember nor to reproduce, which dissuades him of keep on playing the game. Actually, one plays a game to have fun, not to get depressed, right?


Territorios perdidos de Bolivia - Lost Bolivian territories.

Curiosamente, una razón importante (entre otras muchas) por la cual se produjo el desmembramiento geográfico de Bolivia fue que históricamente siempre fue un país deshabitado, también en la vida real.

It is curious enough to mention that one important reason (between many others) why the geography of Bolivia was teared apart was the fact that is has been always an uninhabited country, even in real life.

¿Conclusiones?

Bueno, dadas las abismales diferencias de población entre eBolivia y sus vecinos Argentina, Brasil y Chile muy poco se puede hacer.

Conclusions?

Well, given the huge differences of population between eBolivia and its neighbours Argentina, Brasil and Chile, there is little that can be done.

Se necesitaría el trabajo árduo y comprometido de los pocos bolivianos activos que hay para obtener algún progreso, y aún así los resultados probablemente no irían acorde con el esfuerzo invertido.

Tampoco podemos andar rogándole a la gente para que participe en este juego; juego que por cierto tampoco es la gran cosa..

It would need an arduous and committed work from the few active Bolivians existent to get any progress, and even in that case, the results, probably, wouldn´t pay the bill.

We can´t go begging the people to play the game; game that, by the way, isn´t the big deal...

Así que, solo nos queda paciencia y resignación, y estar siempre alertas ante cualquier oportunidad de mejorar en algo, pero sin grandes ambiciones por el momento: Seguir jugando quien quiera seguir jugando, y si no, no importa: Hay vida más allá de eRepublik.

So, all we only have left is our patience and resignation, and being always alert for any opportunity to get better in any aspect, but without big ambitions by now: To keep on playing the one who wants to do it, and if not, it doesn´t matter: There´s a life beyond eRepublik.
