Editorial: Looking to windward {2 of 2}

Day 690, 02:06 Published in Japan Japan by Laurana Psion

Today, I will wrap up this incredibly “exciting” two part editorial that the ZS is running. Before, you learnt of the ZS’s background, and today, I aim to outline to you the ZS’s intended path into the shrouded future. By the end of this editorial, I should hope that you will have an idea of what to expect from future articles of the ZS, and will either be rushing to click that “subscribe” button or just rushing for the nearest toilet in disgust.

Now then… where to begin?

Firstly, I suppose I should deal with the crucial question of what the future content of this newspaper will be. In short, absolutely anything that might seem appropriate to me. It would seem shortsighted and a waste of a perfectly fine newspaper if I were to limit the topics that the ZS will cover. Interesting articles can be about almost anything and as such, my wish is for the ZS to have content that is as diverse as possible. This will give me access to a greater range of topics to write upon while giving you a better variety of articles to consume.

However, judging from past articles, you can expect that most articles will fall under the label of current affairs, local events, political news and commentary, advertisements and propaganda. I am hoping to add a little more “colour” so do watch out for new developments. This newspaper is published in eJapan and with the aim of reporting to eJapan, and as such, although foreign happenings may be reported locally, it is only in rare circumstances that an article might be published in another country and only in cases in which the ZS feels that a message needs to be sent abroad.

Good job!… if only I could understand it…

As I previously mentioned, the ZS has finally settled into a regular “style”. This is in the interests of both giving the ZS a unique and uniform image and allowing you to read articles that are of a consistent and regular standard and quality. As mentioned before, one feature of this style will be the “info-footers” that end each article:

• These will identify the author, most likely me, and the “sponsors”. If applicable, there will be a list of suggested links related to the article.
• Additionally, I would like to implement a new section “Sister Publications”. More about this will follow when I have thought it through further.

Another feature is how articles will be name😛

• Announcements or advertisements will be prefixed with “[!Notice!]”. These articles are purely for distributing information and will have little or no commentary from me.
• Articles published abroad will be suffixed with “[ZS Int.]”, while a local link to the article (if present) would be suffixed “[Int. Ed.]”.
• Editorial issues will begin “Editorial:”.

Woman: So what do you think of the government?
Man: I like toilets...

In conclusion, I would like the ZS to be a more interactive experience. Although most articles featured here will be written on topics that interests me, I know that these may not always interest you. As a result if there is a topic or event that you might like to see covered but either can’t (eg. no newspaper) or can’t be asked (eg. you’re a lazy bum), feel free to message me. If I am able and willing to do it, you will see your topic in the news shortly, with your name listed as a “sponsor”.

As always, I welcome readers to leave their comments whether good or bad. Without feedback, the ZS will be unable adapt to your needs.

Thanks for reading, and have a great day!
