eDenmark - what we stand to lose.

Day 1,918, 06:56 Published in Denmark Denmark by pho3nix
We've been through this before, but instead of just patting new players on the head and telling them what's best for them; let me instead introduce myself and why I've come to choose Denmark above all other nations of the eWorld.

I was introduced to this game by an old friend of mine. The game itself didn't start in Denmark for me, since IRL I'm Swedish. I'd say Scanian, but I'm not sure that makes it any better for either side. Anyhow, I was seduced into the game by the thought of giving Denmark the finger - as an invasion by the Swedes was inevetable. I even participated in the first invasion of eDenmark back in '08, in which the famous president Grev Per boldly asked the Swedish hordes to bugger off. You can read his publications here.

It didn't take long before I realized what Denmark had in comparison with the rest of the worl😛 balls. I joined the Danish resistance, went pacifist for a few years - and once the admins allowed for occupied countries to rebel, Denmark soon after earned it's independence. It was an awesome time for Denmark - a poor but proud nation. But it was a different nation. Since then various parts of the game mechanics have changed - to the benefit of the big and/or strong nations.

All aspects are included in this: politically in terms of citizenship - and the lack of ability to remove one once it's in place. Economically, in terms of production bonuses to the already broken surplus-economy. Militarily, the game's busted since a single Mastercard can make the difference between victory and defeat.

Also in terms of military, let's have a look around us at the world map - since it nowadays is the first thing we get to see. Our neighbors are no longer a mid-sized Sweden, a weak Germany constantly under the threat of invasion. Instead, we've been blessed with a selection of the world's strongest nations: Russia and Poland. Who would we begin throwing our battle-axe at, and how long would it last?

I'm not sure of the exact numbers within Sasori5's head count, but the game has changed so dramatically since those first days of re-independence that I have reached a conclusion.

Here's what a reborn eDenmark needs:
* At least 70-100 active players.
* Green light to enter a major alliance - with a decent discount.
* Either peace and quiet around us, or utter chaos around us.

Players, for the sake of keeping PTO'ers away. An alliance in order to keep the country on the map - which might be the most tricky part. Beyond that, Poland is definitely a key player for our future security. It cannot be guaranteed without them, and do we have strong enough connections to have it without them? I've been around since they got their independence from Sweden in '09 - and they have only grown stronger since.

Right now, simply looking at our numbers and game mechanics, Denmark would be a country without a functioning military, economy and political system. Would you really like to see the Danebrog be used as a puppet for other, stronger nations? A personal ATM for players lacking cash? I'd rather see Denmark asleep - and I currently am it's vanguard.

Now, to all you arriving to the country with enthusiasm and high spirits - don't let me get you down. I'm giving you clear goals to reach - and they are in no way impossible to reach. Should we reach these bare minimums, I'll be the first to join your ranks to re-establish Denmark on the map - and I know many will follow you.

I'm only asking how you're planning to do it. If you can't do that: think it through and come back with a plan.
