eAussie Survey results

Day 1,739, 03:20 Published in Australia Australia by witherd1

A few weeks ago, I put out an article, and shouted daily for a week or so, for all eAussies to take part in a survey I put forward. Unfortunately, together with my Senate issues, and RL getting busy, I have not put up the results of the survey... until now.

I was quite please with the total number of people who took part, we had 55 people participate in the survey. So let me run through the results.

1. Are you, or have you ever been an eAustralian Congressman?
Of those that answered, 62.3% answered yes, 37.7% answered no.
2 people skipped the question.

2. Are you or have you ever been a member of Cabinet in eAustralia?
Of those that answered, 44.4% answered yes, 55.6% answered no.
1 person skipped the question.

3. If you have not been a member of Cabinet, please tell us why.
I will list some of the responses...
"Too new, barely 30 days old."
"I haven't applied and haven't ever heard of the cabinet."
"Too much childish infighting."
"I don't know how i get a memeber and I don't know what they exactley do."
"Never had close relationships with those "in power" so wasn't an option."
"Sounds boring"
"I have only been playing for a month so do not believe I have enough experience to be in cabinet. In addition, from reading the forums, it seems that our cabinet has too many internal disputes."
"I like being just a soldier."
...just to list a few. But the majority seemed to be that people either thought themselves too new, or too unknowledgeable to be a part of Cabinet.
25 people skipped the question.

4. Would you like to see eAustralia have peace with...
Of those that answered, 34.6 said eNew Zealand, 17.3% said eIndonesia, 21.2% said neither, and 26.9% said both. 3 people skipped the question.

5. Do you support the use of...
Of those that answered, 26.9% said eRepublik game laws only, 7.7% said Forum laws created by Senate (Legislation), 69.2% said a compliment of both.
3 people skipped the question.

6. If you support forum made laws, would you change them if given the chance?
Of those that answered, 58.5% answered yes, 43.9% answered no.
14 people skipped this question.

7. If yes to Question 6, could you briefly tell us how you would change the forum made laws.
I will list some random responses...
"I support the forum. Forum laws should assist play not hinder it. The criteria should be ‘was the right decision made’ not ‘whether it was made in the right way’."
"No specific changes, laws are meant to evolve and if we're not constantly improving we're not doing it right."
"Not sure on the best approach as I am not a lawyer or such but it seems there is a slight disconnect between the game and the forums. I enjoy arguing the points of order and so forth but when there are things that are required to function as a nation then we need to make sure the red tape isn't costing us."
"Dont like forums, and it is always the same 20 or so people that use them"
"Change them to better allow quick procedures without giving any one person over-riding powers"
"The laws need to be modified a small amount to remove useless bureaucracy, however they are already very good compared to how they used to be."
32 people skipped this question.

8. The strength of eAustralia strongly depends on population size. How would you increase eAustralia's population if you could?
Some responses...
"We have to make small baby booms, post ref links in Australian forums and we have to use facebook, twitter and other social sites."
"Promote the game in the general Australian media Continue to focus on the retention of new players Sell the forum and IRC to all active players Weed out bullies on forum and IRC"
"FB viral game spread."
"I honestly don't see a solution to this because as the saying goes - "Friends don't let friends play eRepublik""
"by bugging my mates until they play 😃"
"This one won't be an easy answer"
"Advertising at uni's. Plenty of people there with an open mind."
"There are many foreign people who want to fight for eAustralia, We should accept the trustful requests !!"
"If I knew I would have succeeded by now."
11 people skipped this question.

9. What is your eRepublik profile name?
This one only needs 1 quote, the rest were just to try and keep multi's from influencing the results, and I must say, I was impressed by the lack of multiple submissions.
"Get fucked. You're fishing for popular ideas to base a political platform on. Leave my name out of your shit stirring."

10. Would you like more information on any of these questions, such as becoming involved in Cabinet or Senate? If so, please leave a comment here.
The responses to this are not important here. I contacted those that seemed genuinely interested. If you still have questions, and I have not contacted you, please feel free to send me a message.

I wish to thank everyone for taking part in this survey, and for being honest. My aim was to use this information to help our Government and Senate to make better informed decisions, and to allow those that would normally not be heard, an opportunity to be heard. Thanks for taking part.

And btw, a vote for me in Queensland would be appreciate for the elections tomorrow. Cheers.
