East Asia in chaos as EDEN/USA forces liberate Western Australia
Aeros
Because of the serious geopolitical ramifications of what happened earlier this morning, I am writing a special edition of D.I.R for Australia. This morning at 3:15 AM EST, the Allied powers defeated Indonesia in the Western Australia Resistance War. The action has now been followed up with MPP proposals being introduced by Canada, the USA, Spain and Romania.
AUSTRALIA
Because no major Hungarian resistance emerged in the Alaska battle, the Allied militaries did not participate in the final day of action. For Indonesia’s part, they had assumed the Resistance Wars to be distractions, but in order to play it safe they built up the wall in Karnataka, a High Iron region. Noticing the wall in Western Australia was low, the Allied Militaries immediately received an emergency deployment order, and were sent to Indonesia to fight in the Western Australia Resistance War. This battle in particular showed off the new found organization and dedication of the USA, as soldiers who fought in the final moments of the battle after server reset (like myself) had to be up at 3 AM Eastern Time. For Indonesia’s part, they attempted to rally a defense in Western Australia but were caught off guard by the EDEN/US maneuver. PEACE simply did not expect the Allies would be able to move so many troops so quickly and have them ready for battle, considering this was happening right after the Alaska fight. EDEN tanking commenced 10 minutes after Server reset, with the EMC and the US Marine Corps unleashing a furious barrage. All other military forces of the USA and EDEN berserked in the closing minutes, driving the wall -32,000 points into the underground as overtime was forced.
Western Australia was occupied by Indonesia 18 months ago and has since been one of Indonesia’s prized overseas possessions. The region is high in Diamonds, Grain, and possesses every other resource at the Medium level. As consequence, it was thick in Indonesian manufacturing and land working economic activity. This is also the reason why the Indonesians have been reluctant to return the region to Australia, because of the huge investment of economic resources in the region. For its part, Australia followed a path of extreme passiveness in regaining its territory. Peaceful negotiations saw the country returned to the map and given back most of its territory from Indonesian occupation. With regards to the Western Australia situation, the Australian Government stuck with the negotiation method. When Cottus Arci proposed “Operation Two Fold Bay” about a month ago (which came in conjunction with a US MPP offer), the Australian Government rejected the proposal. Reading through the media at the time, many of the same arguments were brought up against taking back Western Australia. Many feared Indonesia would retaliate against Australia and reoccupy the country. Others claimed Australia did not possess the capability to manage Western Australia anyhow, and because of that should not risk destabilizing relations with Indonesia and PEACE.
Under normal circumstances, that would have been the end of it. But these are not normal times. Indonesia is a principle power of PEACE GC, and at one point occupied a large swath of US Territory on top of its own Asian holdings. The Indonesian invasion of North America put the country squarely in the cross hairs of a very angry USA. From a military stand point, Western Australia represented a bit more then “just another Indonesian Colony”. The region was an economic backbone for Indonesia and was providing the country with a significant quantity of its tax revenue and resources. With Western Siberia returned to Russia, the importance of Western Australia to Indonesia only grew. At this point, the Allies have a stated goal of liquidating PEACE GC’s global holdings, and Western Australia was one of the crown jewels in the Alliances catalogue of overseas possessions. Wrap that in the fact that it has been occupied for 18 months and Indonesia broke its stated promise to return the region to Australia, and the Allied course of action becomes very clear; Indonesia was going to lose Western Australia.
The Political fall out has been immediate. It has been said that EDEN and the USA did in 10 minutes what 10 months of negotiations failed to do. Apparently, the Australian Government agrees. The Australian Congress is busy approving the MPP requests from the USA and other EDEN countries, effectively endorsing and permanently sealing the liberation of Western Australia. The move also effectively moves Australia into the EDEN camp, through a mixture of gratitude and strategic necessity. Returning Western Australia to Indonesia is something that would have been inconceivable for any nations Government, because it would endorse the occupation of home territory by a foreign power. But by doing this, Australia risked war with Indonesia. By entering EDEN, Australia can assert its independence without fear of Indonesian invasion. For the Sol Alliance however, the events of this morning are anything but joyous. Most members of Sol are occupied to some degree or another by Indonesia and Iran. As consequence, the Alliance relies heavily on the good graces of these two countries, and by extension, PEACE GC. Australia asserting its independence and entering the EDEN camp has the potential to trigger an East Asian war, should Indonesia decide to attack; regardless of the MPP’s signed. So long as Australia remains a member state in Sol, contractual obligations in the Alliance treaty could drag the other East Asian nations into the conflict. For an Alliance that prides itself on its neutrality, the possibility of war with PEACE no matter how remote is simply too great a risk. While it is unlikely Indonesia will try to force the issue now that Australia is developing a battery of MPP’s with leading EDEN powers, it is also unlikely Sol will be willing to take the chance on Indonesia’s good sense.
FINAL ANALYSIS
The Liberation of Western Australia is permanent. With the signing of MPP treaties, Australia has set up an effective defense against any effort by Indonesia to retake the territory. Statements by the Australian PM further indicate the country intends to join EDEN and make official its new global stance. This action means Australia will be picking a side in World War 3 and will now be a direct participant. In a way, this is great news because it means Australia will be a more interesting place to live and by default may now be able to convince more citizens to join eRepublik. For Indonesia, the defeat will be an economic body blow and will only accelerate the nations decay. Many believe Indonesia to be a shadow of what it once was and the lack luster defense of Western Australia merely underscored that assessment. The victory also showed in full display the logistical and tactical organization of the Allied military, which over the past few weeks has consistently outmaneuvered and overpowered PEACE GC. This is a potent fighting force that Australia can gain great benefit from should they choose to join it.

Holy f*** what just happened?
😃
UGH WHY DID I GO TO BUSCH GARDENS WHEN EVERYTHING AWESOME IS GOING ON 😨
Lol^ you never know when things start to pick up in eRep🙂
Good article.
Pretty solid two weeks for USA and friends!
^ lol, and I bet it wasn't even that good...
Woot Australia!
EDEN \o/
AC/DCmaxx!
it is just a sign of growing eUSA imperialistic ambition now? Force smaller nations to submit to your flanks by forcing them to accept your protection. You created the problem for eAus, and you offered them protection. Hahaha. Great! What's next, i can't wait.
eUSA liberating regions? More like political propaganda to deal a blow to your Peace enemy? come on..call a spade a spade.

Woot Australia!
Actually it was 😛
Car, I have one suggestion for you.
Suck.
My.
Balls.
PEACE PROPAGANDA!
Long Live EDEN!
You completely missed the Chinese RWs
Nice article.
Great analysis, as always, Aeros.
@Carr De Vaux, sir PEACE troll. It's hard to use the word imperialism when we have returned all Canadian regions to Canada and the USA spent lots of gold to free Western Australia for *Australia*. Look at eGobba's map - who owns WA? USA? Nope, Australia.
As Aeros pointed out, a major reason why indo was able to hurt us so badly was because they pulled in so much gold from WA. If Australia really doesn't want WA back, all they have to do is give it back to Indonesia 🙂. Don't see that happening.
Outstanding analysis as always.
Carr De Vaux, you consider it a problem that Astralia gains full independency and all their territories back? By reading the article written by the president of Australia, their congress agreed in some level that a request of aid will be sent to Eden.(in some level I mean the hastiness of the situation, every congress member aren't online at the same time.)
I think it is awesome that Australia finally grew a backbone and stood up against the so called friends who held their territories for theirselves. I do not understand how you as a nation have survived such a long time without any political or militaristic stance towards any other nation besides Indonesia. I do not know what kind of people eAustralians are, and as you have been totally outside the international community, I am not sure if it is a wise situation to let you to Eden right away, but it is certain that in future we will see a more prosperous Australia after they finally showed up and actually did something.
It would be most absurdest thing ever if Australia would declare war on Indonesia, hand over WA again and negotiate another 18 months for liberating it.
great article voted and subed
PEACE GONE? PEACE OF CAKE!
@Sossu
Australia is the most borderless country in eRepublik. it has boreders with 2 countries Indonesia and South Africa. The regions that link eAus with eSA are under Indonesian occupation so our only border is with Indonesia
so up until now we have had no need for innternational attention as it was basically useless. All that has changed now though
Sol Sol Sol Sol Sol Sol
Is it so hard to write it correctly? Whatever SoL is supposed to mean?
When people call returning Western Australia to Australia imperialism it makes me laugh. Don't be a sore loser.
You do know that the Aussies could have just given it back, they didn't have to sign the MPPs? Seems like they finally got tired of being occupied. Good for them!
Exciting times!
Really good article..
@ Matty
Obviously we are imposing our will on them by making them be independent.
Super article, Aeros!
Good luck growing your country, Australia!
No worries, mates!
Well done Aeros, thanks again sir for another great article.
Votado 😛
Australia has been asking for New Zealand to enter the game to give us another border, I hope that it happens.
On a side note Indonesia still own all the regions that border Australia.
@Zheng He - Carr de Vaux is not a PEACE troll. She is a respected eMalaysian politician. And the eUSA has just meddled in a political situation they know nothing about.
Bacause of the loss of Western Siberia, Indonesians have been clamoring for war to get another High Wood Region. They've been looking at eMalaysia with a greedy eye. They're waiting for the 100 Gold MPPs to kick in to reduce the number of MPPs eMalaysia has for the Sol war games. If Indonesia attacks Malaysia, they go to war with all of Sol. It is a tense situation, and the eUSA just lit the fuse under it.
By taking Western Australia away from eIndonesia, you make their economy much weaker. The hawks are going to clamor for more war to support their remaining economy. War with Sol just became more tempting. Now they don't have to worry about eAustralia invading Western Australia if they go to war with Sol. Now eIndonesia has less to loose and everything to gain by war with Sol.
@Video Jack: War with Sol means the end of eIndonesia. This is not too hard to understand. EDEN and the US have shown they can beat back indo on any territory. War with Sol means a gateway for the US to enter and wipe out indo once and for all. They would not risk it. Western Australia was the nail in the coffin. Indo will never be a superpower again.
Out of desperation due to their country shrinking and their empire falling, Indonesia just might try something idiotic. Do you not think that is something Eden would be all over? Indo starts their war declaration and 10 minutes later whichever country starts to receive MPP proposals from a half dozen countries willing to foot the bill to fight Indo.
Great article. 🙂
"So long as Australia remains a member state in Sol, contractual obligations in the Alliance treaty could drag the other East Asian nations into the conflict."
Well, Sol is deciding to kick eAustralia out of the whole alliance and is still being discussed.
My home State back, cheers guys!
@ Sossu
"I think it is awesome that Australia finally grew a backbone"
WE DIDN'T WANT THIS! The eAussie military wasn't even involved. I am not pro PEACE, but by the eUS taking back our land for us, when we were not in a position to take it anyway, shows:
1) how arrogant the eUS is
2) how arrogant EDEN is
3) how little they understood the politics in this region of the world
4) how little you actually care about eAustralia.
Fuck Sol, they didn't liberate us EDEN did.
I had been posting for months for Australia to join EDEN to get WA back - everyone 'poo-pooed' my idea - now we have succeeded.
To all the doubters... I TOLD YOU SO!
To the fallen & lost comrades of eRepublik past.
Geopolitical ramifications?
Are you seriously contemplating and plagiarizing an archive of jargon-based words? Some of the minded might yet not know of various complications in technical worded in a Public Article whereas 90% of the population is no yet to a higher standard of completely understanding these paragraphs of complete idiocy.
EXCELLENT!!!
what the hell happened with the chinese resitance wars?
great article! 🙂
As an aside:
eAus desperately needs help stabilising the economy after the addition of eWA. It needs people from other countries to move to eAus and work in eWA. There will be lots of jobs, and there's nowhere near the population in eAus currently to fill them. Also, all budding entrepreneurs should look at buying a company in eWA. Many will now be going on the market at reduced prices.
I thank the Allies for the support in the liberation of Australia. Political neutrality and negotiations were only delays to the prosperity of Australia. Long live EDEN. Long live the USA.
