Hello, dear readers!
I haven't published any queer ideas about Norway for a long time, so this article will present you a possibility for the country to earn lots of gold thanks to the game's mechanics only. I could only hope I am not wrong and that you are will accept my opinion and express yours... Enjoy reading and then tell me what you think about this issue!
We all know that every person, elected as a congressman, is awarded a medal of 5 Gold. Especially for the older players this amount is not sufficient, but it is not to be underestimated, since it comes from the Game for free. In my opinion every one is ready to sacrifice all they have in the name of the homeland. After each congressional election at least a part of the medal's value could be donated to the state's treasury too.
I have heard about similar initiatives in other small countries with limited income, so this is not a revolutionary concept, but as far as I know it is functioning great! After the election the new congressmen are asked to voluntary donate, for example the half of the Gold received, and almost all of them are happy to contribute in such a way. The collected money could later be used for the country's urgent needs or saved for future expenditures.
In the last months Norway is trying to counter PTO attempts by reducing its congress seats. Less players could enter and the chance for a PTO-er to get in is a minor as well. However, if we succeed to organise our parties well, we are going to be able to sustain a 40-seat-congress (the maximum) with a minimal PTO threat. Even if we continue our renting deal with the Russians, e could have 3 free regions and why not a 4-th in Northern Denmark (Nordjylland), securing us a Fish bonus as well. With a larger number of congressmen we would be one step closer to the idea of direct democracy and many new players would have their chance to prove themselves as politicians. More views would be presented and the government would be able to work properly and efficiently without any difficulties.
Moreover - if every one of the 40 deputies donates the half of the medal (2.5 Gold) to the treasury, this would mean 100 Gold income every single month. This money could be used for signing MPPs, helping newcomers or sponsoring squads to fight in Asgard's battles. According to some calculations, this would form the biggest part of the state's budget, especially if the Gold's price goes up soon. What we have to do is simply to organise our political system and offer every Norwegian to show what they can on the political scene. Nowadays every penny could be decisive, so we should not waste the opportunity to become insured via this simple modus.

we should even think of donating all five gold from congress prize to Norway.
hmm, you are right. I'm only small immigrant, but I think right now we need support your, our country
I am some kind of immigrant myself !
But also being congress member should be honour and that function in my opinion should not be payed.

Also it would not be bad for Norway if we will allways ( if we have 10,20,30 or 40 congress members) donate our congress prize gold to Norway bank.
That would give us good income even if we have only 20 congress members> 20*5=100 gold (and our usual rent deal with Russia is 90 gold I think)
Well, even if the Gold is falling, it would still be useful to have reserves, I am pretty sure that the admins would change this in order to get more people buying it... And about the amount of Gold donated - it is up to the congressmen to decide, but it would be better if they donate only a part of it, and of course, if they wish to, the whole of it... And more regions is always better, we simply need a better cooperation with all the parties to keep PTOers out of the congress.
PTOers are greedy for gold that why now when some countries have gold mines we would not have much problems with them : )

I quite like the idea of donating the gold. However I value this not as an act of "saving the budget" (because we cannot save it this way", but rather as showing respect and devotion to ones own country. As for the number of regions we are going to have, wait for like 10 hours (when the war with Latvia will start and after that we could guess how many regions we are going to have.

In the llight of what I said, it would be better if donating the gold is made not because one should but rather because one really wants to 🙂

Of course. But trust me, if the budget is going down, many of us will give money away to the country. We have donated many times before for RWs, we will do it again if needed. We might be a small, but we are strong and proud country! So worry not, slef-sacrafice lives up in eNorway 🙂

Maybe you should but a lvl limit on: Young players don't need to donate as we old fags tend to be richer😉

Yeah, and a 30 seat congress should be easy to make. Vestlandet+Sørlandet+Svalbard. I guess 40 will be harder as i think Denmark wants their own congress🙂

Are you thinking about declaring war on Denmark and Germany?
No, I am thinking of the training war we did many times before... If our 2 countries agree, of course, I am not telling you that we should conquer new lands by force, but just that if the government of Denmark approves it we could have a training war in the future, with friendly feeling as we used to do it...
Thats a good idea, its not the best time atm, but when things chill down its good to know that we have a country with similar strength to play with🙂
But you specify Nordjylland as a possible Norwegian region during elections. I am from Denmark btw.
I do not see Nordjylland becoming a part of Norway in any way, unless you can guarentee 100%, that you will never lose it again. And not even then might it be possible.
Norway never lost Nordjylland back in 2012. It was transfered back as a part of the deal with Denmark, if I remember correctly. Also, Norway had an incompentent President back then, and no one could be arsed to run against him as he did at least fill the role.
I am from Denmark as well, and I see no problem in possibly renting/lending out Nordjylland, if all parties(Germany, Denmark and Norway) can find a mutual agreement.. We might as well hold Sjaelland, instead of Nordjylland, and Germany won't lose any bonus since they have 2x Fish in their native regions.. Anyway, official negotiations would have to be carried out ofc..
We must anyways have TW some time. It could be a nice way for youngsters to get medals. We attack and win you rw we attack and win and so on, or maybe you attack and win🙂
Yes, the idea is great. Here in Belarus approximately half of the congress members voluntarily donate 5 gold. That sum in case of emergency can be effectively used and it helps also for our BelarusBank to play at MM (to earn more).
Personally I favour the rather some seats given away to PTOers/in-cases-just-not-that-welcome/medal-and-or-gold-hunters than limited or no seats at all.
In the eCzech Republic, unfortunately there was "loss" of 100-150 Gold every month for some time now and occupying countries had merely 1 or 2 seats extra because of it if any extra at all. And the Gold of the RWs is mostly in the pockets of the elite anyways. More in the past we used to do donations from congress medals as well, albeit fredrikz here surely makes a valid point.
Another good use for te gold is loan it to the young players so they can improve their traning Ground.
Its already been done by the Portuguese government, and also some Portugues MU are still doing it, one Portuguese MU (LUP) loan 2.000 good on the last upgrade promotion.
This is a thing that could be of great use for us! We should just be careful so that those young players don't quit the game soon...
