In the New World markets, weapons are a favorite item. We citizens use them to fight for land, freedom, and experience.
Have you gotten bored with just weapons?
Have a lot of money, but nothing to spend it on?
Do you want to fight more often? But don't feel like changing your AUD to gold for wellness packs?
Well, here's a solution: ARMOR!
This is how I figured armor will work:
I used this as the basis for my calculations:
A citizen with 100 wellness > fights 5 times to 50 wellness > heals at a 5Q hospital > back to 100 wellness
Based on this, I figured that a 1Q armor would save the user 2 wellness. So, instead of loosing 10 wellness after a fight, one would only loose 8 wellness. Then, after the 5 fights, the user would save 10 wellness in total or left with 60 wellness. This would allow the user to fight one extra time.
Well, this is assuming that the citizen used one 1Q armor for each of the 5 times he/she has fought.
These are the numbers for the other qualities:
2Q - saves 4 wellness a turn - after the 5 usual fights: 20 wellness is saved in total: can fight 2 additional times
3Q - saves 6 wellness a turn - after the 5 usual fights: 30 wellness is saved in total: can fight 3 additional times
4Q - saves 8 wellness a turn - after the 5 usual fights: 40 wellness is saved in total: can fight 4 additional times
5Q - saves 10 wellness a turn - after the 5 usual fights: 50 wellness is saved in total: can fight 5 additional times
Armor will work like weapons. They are not necessary when fighting, just helpful. Every fight will automatically use up the highest quality armor in one's inventory.
Iron will be the raw material needed to produce armor.
The addition of armor into eRepublik would help the New World's economy. There would be a new item in the market and a new type of company to open.
This is just an idea; admins may make any changes they want to this.

Bad idea, I'm sick of purely +-wellness and wall. There needs to be strategy and individual skill of SOME sort involved.

The idea of armor seems great, but like Zaney I believe some sort of actual element of skill or thought should be involved in battles.
skill? You mean like a massive turn-based battleship kind of deal where players could play as chess pieces on a grid like battle field? That would be interesting to watch as it would reward teamwork and not only brawn. Haha, it would certainly make the game a helluva lot more interesting.
Very interesting idea, I hope this feature is implemented in next 100 years (considering the fact that admins are fixing the game and adding to it too slowly).
So Q5 armour would meen NO wellness loss? I somehow doubt the admins would implement THAT

we don't know the production or prices for these things. Think about it, it might cost 100 of a national currency to buy Q5, maybe more.

I would think it would be q5 of 5 wood (with is worth 1g or something same as q5 weapon, you can only use say 5 a day.
@ zaney: I completely agree. Fighting right now is boring and doesn't require much thought.
@ Srg91: Yes, there should be some sort of limit to how much armor one can buy a day, like wellness. If somebody has a rediculas amount of money, they can fighting for...a VERY long time.

AWESOME! the only problem here is that it would put to much demand on IRON, the other raws would need an additional item to balance it out.
This might extend the rift between the high-levels and the low-levels even further.
Nevertheless, a good idea.
Iron does already have a high demand. If the addition of armor would too much of a strain on this raw material, maybe armor should be made of something else.
I've been looking into materials used for armor. Nothing else seems to be a natural material aside from the more traditional hard metal armor. The more modern soft armor is made of ceramics and other things. That could be hard to be incorperated into the game since they aren't natural.
But as I've said, this is just an idea. If the admins are interested in adding armor, they can change any of these details that they wish so it would fit the game better.
This will get broken very fast. The Indonesians will spend the required gold to create a Q5 Armor Company. They then will have their best workers work there to crank out armor for their Tanks. Since you can fight for as long as your Wellness is over 40, with Q5 Armor you can fight indefinately. The Indonesian Tanks will be unstoppable. Not that they're not already unstoppable seeing from how they conquered California. But at least they had to spend hundreds of Gold to do it. Indonesia and its citizens spent over 1000 Gold on that battle. I don't think that much Gold came out of California during the Gold Rush of 1849.
The Admins will never go for the idea of Armor, not even if it was disposable as Weapons. The Admins want you to melt down Gold fighting. The Admins want you to spend Euros to buy Gold. The Indonesian players are not casual gamers. Those guys buy Gold, lots of Gold. Each Indo Tank must have spent 10 or 20 Euros just so they could win the Battle of California.
well... 2 gold is worth 10 WP. So should be Q5 Armor. Then, perhaps this type of armor would not break RL-economics for the game. But still, it would. Since bots can produce as much items as one needs, but no bots produce wellness whis is sold for RL money by admins solely. 40 wellness-packs is 80 gold. Which is like 50 Euro.
80 gold is 8 bots/multis invited and leveled up to 6th level, and that takes like a week to do.
