eAdvice: To the Game-Makers (Part 3): Battle

Changing Battle
This article to the game-makers about battle is not official E$C advice, but personal advice from 24MelloYello. I have played eRepublik off-and-on for about 3 years, so many of these suggestions come from former versions of eRepublik.

Opponents
Currently, eRepublik displays one player against another in battle. Every time you fight you deal x (usually much more than 10) damage to the other player and receive 10 in return. I know that anyone that even thought about this exchange has realized that players are not actually dealing damage to each other, but to opposing causes. Why display battle as opposing players when you are directly dealing damage to a cause. Understanding that damage is dealt to the opposing cause when battle displays that you have defeated a player, can eRepublik give any other reason to display battle as opposing players instead of countries? Personally, I tend to think that isolating a player against the opposing cause is better for the players and the opponents. Because damage is issued once you have “defeated” another player, much damage is wasted; many players stop attacking in the middle of defeating a player. It would benefit both players and countries to deal damage directly against an opposing cause.

Rank Up
Currently, when you rank up, you receive a energy bar and 5% more damage by attacking. For how infrequently these rank-ups come, these gifts are pitiful. Rank-up gifts should start out smaller and increase as your rank increases as rank-ups are increasingly harder to reach. This way, gifts are proportional to the effort it took to get them. Rank-up gifts should also be of more variety to allow the gifts to slowly and steadily increase; this variety should include weapons, energy bars, usd, damage increase, and maybe even gold for very hard rank-ups. This will give players more incentive to rank-up- more incentive to fight.

Bazooka Parts
Currently, bazooka parts come infrequently, especially for scopes and rockets. eRepublik should increase the overall rate and make the rate for each part equal. This will also give players more incentive to fight even right after receiving a part, knowing that another part may be just around the corner. This will help player rank-up quicker and will also help players del more damage against an opposing country.
