Dynamos take a 2-1-1 series lead over the Omegas! (Canadian Hockey League)

Day 571, 11:55 Published in Canada Canada by Derek Harland

The Canadian Hockey League has officially started its first series and last night was game 4. The series has been an evenly matched and exciting one with the Omegas taking game 1, the Dynamos taking game two and both teams playing to a tie in game 3. Game 4 was supposedly going to be the biggest game of the series in which both teams had an opportunity to take control of the series. The DAL Dynamos did just that as they managed to squeeze out the 4-3 win over the Omegas.

The game was back and forth all night long and no team ever had the lead for more than ten minutes. 5 minutes into the first period with Dynamo defenseman Derek Harland in the box for an undisciplined slashing penalty Ralph de Ver gave the Omegas the 1-0 lead that started with a beautiful pass from Omega D Petz. The Dynamos had dumped the puck into the Omega end and quickly changed but Petz took advantage of this and quickly sent a 100 foot pass to de Ver at the blueline who walked in and shot it over the shoulder of Dynamo goalie Uraczak.

7 minutes later the Omega took a commanding 2-0 series lead as Marchelala scored on a shot that Uraczak knows he should've had. Mirahge chipped the puck off the boards in the Dynamo end past Koolmanjack and Marchelala picked it up in the corner and fired it on net. Uraczak came off of his post a little bit and it was just enough to squeak by him and give Omega the 2-0 lead.

But the Dynamo weren't giving up just yet. 2 minutes and 58 seconds later W Halve of the Dynamos cut the Omega lead in half. Scorpius cut across the blue line and made a nice drop pass to Halve as he was burning down the left wing and he one-timed it past the outstretched glove of Omega goalie Emilio Sanchez. At the end of the first period there was a face-off in the Omega end with just 4 seconds left to play. Ayeshan Dakseus won a scramble face-off and eventually got it back to Scorpius who was at the top of the circle and he quickly zipped a five-hole shot past Sanchez to tie the game up. The play went under review to see if the puck crossed the goal line before the buzzer went and the replay showed it was in fact a goal.

The second period was a show being put on by both goalies. Emilio Sanchez and Uraczak both made a combined 23 saves in the second period as both teams were putting on a shot festival. Sanchez and Uraczak were at their best and they were doing all they could to help their team take control of game 4.

The third period wasn't what both goalies were hoping for and two minutes in Halve scored his second goal of the game. Scorpius picked up the assist once again as he dumped the puck in the Omega end but it took a funny bounce off the endboards and went right past Sanchez. The puck squirted out to the front of the net and Halve easily tapped it in past the diving Omega winger Fram who was trying to stop the shot.

Two minutes later the Omega had a great chance to tie it on the five-on-three. Fred Carle and Nucksalltheway were both in the box for stick infractions, Carle getting a hooking penalty and Nucksalltheway getting a slashing penalty. They had a 1:32 to score on the powerplay but couldn't put the puck past Uraczak. The Omega came really close though when Alias Vision and Jake Anthony Khorhy were playing catch in the corner. Vision out of the corner of his eye saw David Letang rushing in from the point and set him up for a pass but the puck rang off the post.

With 12 minutes remaining in the third period Leps Dissim saw Jake Bannon streaking down the right wing as he blazed past DWarelis and Dissim chipped the puck over the Dynamos head. Bannon quickly grabbed the puck and sent a laser beam of a shot that went just over Uraczak's glove to tie the game up at 3.

Mr. Mills ended up being the unlikely hero for the Dynamos as he scored a beautiful goal with only 1:30 left to play in the third period. Tooyaleon was in trouble with the puck so he passed it back to Mr. Mills at the Dynamo blueline. Mr. Mills took the puck and went around 4 Dynamos before deking out Emilio Sanchez and shooting the puck in the net. Mr. Mills' final deke around David Letang was beautiful as he went through his legs and then deked out Sanchez. It was an unlikely ending to a fantastic game.

Game 5 kicks off tomorrow night at 7 PM EST. It is one you don't want to miss!
