Dragon's fury

Ravens! Damn ravens! I never liked them. Their black color makes me feel unease. The nature of some beings, you can tell by their appearance. Yes,sometimes you may be deceived. Sometimes you are convinced in your opinion, and yet,in the end you realize that you were completely wrong. With ravens you can't be wrong. You may say that they appear insidious,evil,corrupted... And you'll be right. Black color presents their dark side. It reminds of the darkness, night. People fear the night, they fear something invisible and ghostly. Primal fear.
In some cultures, ravens are very significant. In Nordic mythology they embody Odin Allfather. They are very respected.
But,for all warrior cultures, they represent heralds of death! These are the birds that visit places of great battles and they are the last witnesses of human suffering. Like demons they circle above battlefield, waiting for the right moment to come crushing down on the dying warriors. Evil creatures! No,with ravens you can not be wrong.
Damn ravens!
1389. A.D. Kosovo
Horse brought me to the front line. All around me I see battle hardened warriors. Through their helmets I can't see their faces. I can't even see their eyes. They look like machines,no emotions. As I was approaching, men saluted me. As if I am one of their commanders. They must have seen dragon on my armor. Not far from me,I see banners of our leader,Czar Lazar. And I see him. He sits on the back of his horse, surrounded with his best soldiers. And what a sight! His armor shines in gold and silver. His sword is made of a finest steel,it could cut through mountain. On his shield there is a symbol of Order of the Dragon. Black horse beneath him,big and strong and restless, full of scars. A mark of a true warhorse. Fearsome warrior, fearless warrior... A force of nature. Who could stand against him? Thank God he's on our side. He truly is a dragon!
Czar Lazar raises his sword, and war trumpet sounds. Ground shakes under the horses hooves. Center of the Serbian army started the assault. Thousands of Serbian horsemen, ignoring the arrows that Turkish foot soldiers fired at them, rushed in tight order. When horses felt flat ground and close combat, they stormed into Turkish archers, trampled them, and like a giant sea wave they rushed into Turkish cavalry with all their ferocity. Turks were ready for the attack. Animals and men collided, you could hear screams everywhere. Such noise! Hope you'll never hear it! Then the slaughter began.
It seems that my horse does not feel my weight, even though I'm in armor. As if I am light as a feather. It does not run,it flies over the battlefield. I cover my flank with a shield. At the same time,my sword is cutting through anything in its path. I swear I can hear it singing, some war song. It enjoys spilling blood. Turks are terrified,I can see it in their eyes. They must think I am a dragon!
For a brief moment,I am able to look at Lazar and his men. Czar got in front of his warriors. His colossal figure on great horse with decorated saddle, drew the attention of Turkish horsemen. And fierce fight started around him. His troops managed to get in front and make an impenetrable line. Despite that, javelin hits Czar's horse in it's neck. The animal started to scream and stumble. Immediately, another horse was brought to Lazar, and he returned into fight. Fearless warrior!
Since the Turkish left flank was defeated,Serbian troops that fought there, now started to attack Turkish center. Turks are in disarray.
Between Serbian left and Turkish right flank, there was a swamp and river Lab. And that's way there could not be any fighting. Beyazit Yildirim, commander of the Turkish right flank, left only half of his troops in that place. The other half,he left in reserve. But,when he saw the destruction of his left flank,he took his troops and reserve army to aid the Turkish center. So it happened that well rested Turkish soldiers stormed into battle, when Serbian horsemen were exhausted from slaughter. In vain were trumpeters of Czar Lazar calling the reserve cavalry of Vuk Brankovic. Eight thousand rested Serbian warriors, were slowly getting across the river Lab.
Czar Lazar and his nearest soldiers stopped and looked, for a moment. Turkish cavalry of Beyazit Yildirim was surrounding Serbian army, and their reserve troops were rushing into battle.
God,give strength to our Dragons!

about Kosovo and Metohia battle, no complaints 🙂
But, about Ravens, me as a great fan of American native Indians must give you this to rea😛
''The symbolic meaning of the Raven in Native American Indian lore describes the raven as a creature of metamorphosis, and symbolizes change/transformation.
In some tribes, the Raven is considered a trickster because of its transforming/changing attributes.
Often honored among medicine & holy men of tribes for its shape-shifting qualities, the Raven was called upon in ritual so that visions could be clarified. Native holy men understood that what the physical eye sees, is not necessarily the truth, and he would call upon the Raven for clarity in these matters.
Foremost, the Raven is the Native American bearer of magic, and a harbinger of messages from the cosmos. Messages that are beyond space and time are nestled in the midnight wings of the Raven and come to only those within the tribe who are worthy of the knowledge.
The Raven is also called upon in Native ritual for healing purposes. Specifically, the Raven is thought to provide long-distance healing.
The Raven is also a keeper of secrets, and can assist us in determining answers to our own “hidden” thoughts. Areas in our lives that we are unwilling to face, or secrets we keep that harm us – the Raven can help us expose the truth behind these (often distorted) secrets and wing us back to health and harmony.''
I like reading about Indians too. I would even like to go to USA,just so I can meet some of them. But I am not sure I'll get the chance. 🙂 thanks for the text..
