Draak Award For Journalistic Excellence

It should come as no surprise that our media sucks, and it is not getting any better. I have often complained about the use of org votes in the media, but until now I have done little to deter it. When I logged on today to see this crap as our number 1 article I almost had a stroke. Org votes are allowing pure shit to be voted into the top 5 or top 10 and it is upsetting to me as a true writer to see myself and other young potential writers get choked out because of this practice. That is why today I am introducing the Draak Award For Journalistic Excellence. Here is how the process will work:
- Every Thursday at about 19:00 erep time I will choose a winner for the week. In order to
be eligible for that weeks award your article must be published by rollover on Wednesday.
- One winner will be chosen every week and will be given a 150 USD prize for their journalistic excellence. I am giving you USD instead of gold to encourage you spend the money here to help our economy and to hopefully prevent you from using the money to buy org votes for your next article as the org vote people usually take Gold.
- Any article that is org voted in any way, shape, or form will not be considered. Trust me you are not fooling anyone with an article that has 300 votes and 10 comments while you have 100 subs.
- Any article that is published between Thursday at 19:00 and Wednesday before rollover will be eligible for that weeks award. War articles, interviews, humor, etc. if it is good it will be considered.
- Winners will then be allowed into my super cool club and into the journalistic clubhouse (no I will not molest you). Winners will be allowed to submit nominations for the award and as a group we will pick the winner for the week. Winners will never be asked to contribute financially as the prize money will come solely out of my pocket.
- Winners will be allowed to use the award to help politically or media wise. People who use the award falsely will be trolled mercilessly and publicly humiliated. Trust me I know people who really know how to hurt.
- The first cycle will begin at 19:00 this Thursday so start thinking of those good topics and good luck to all.
I hope this will help as I am tired of seeing diarrhea on paper reach our top 5 while good writers struggle. Also as a side note please vote for Inwegen tomorrow as he is clearly the best choice for America. If you need any proof of this fact please just read the debate logs as it makes it painfully obvious. If you need the debate logs just ask and I can get them to you. Until next time.....

I was thinking about something along these lines earlier. I'm glad to see that a far more prestigious person is doing it. Hopefully I'll be considered. I'll have something come Thursday, of course.

Darn, if we could still publish articles in any country we liked, I would totally do this not even for the money, but just because I'd like to contribute to my old country's media like I used to ever since I moved to Slovakia.

This is a wonderful idea. Hopefully it can pump new blood in our mediocre media.
I wholeheartedly agree with you, Gulden. It's a backhanded slap in the face of those of who are trying to get something decent out there but either get ignored or only have an average of 10 or less out of 100 subscribers vote on their articles to see these terribly written org voted/gold bought vote articles on the top.

There has been a lack of interesting articles ever since the publishing restriction. Where is the propaganda! Where are the war articles.. I miss those old times.. You have to be very creative now, and looking at pictures.. well thats part of the story isn't it. 😃
