with the recent changes income tax is pretty much useless so yh lets get rid of them

I suspect that MPPs are the bulk of the expenditure. I doubt the army actually costs that much these days as they must produce as much as they use and wages are very, very low.

How long did you say your military experience is? Its just if you're going to be so critical of the military i presume you must have spent a fair amount of time in it in order to be able to make an informed argument about whether it is worth it.

The army is a great way of getting new players involved in the game. I can honestly say i would not still be playing this game if i hadn't joined the army (Naby back then) when i signed up.

What game are you playing? The whole point of this game is to make money....to fight. What other use are you putting your fake e-dollars toward?

The leadership is in the army because they actually care about fighting and defending the UK so that you can sit there playing house. Without the army and MPP expenditures we would get wiped.

I work every day for 2FRF, and get less fod than I could make if I worked in a private company most days. The times when we get extra are when we are sent abroad, and even then we have to pay for our own MTs back.

Deffelbag, without a military we would lose a lot of players due to boredom and we wouldn't be able to defend ourselves nearly as much as we can now.

Let's agree that the military can't exist without regular people ( workers, businessmen) but neither can regular people exist without military. So let's all do our share and end this debate

You assume a military must be funded by taxation.

And with the exception of the good Dr... all my opponents have huge levels of experience, more than me any way so I don't think you speak for the new, and the e-young.

As for fun, being in the military just means pressing a few more buttons than running a business.

The e-UK taxes all to pay for tanking by an elite, that vote for politicians to sustain this theft.

When does this tanking happen? I sure haven't seen any. Maybe in times of actual emergency, in which case I can't imagine why you'd be whining about it.

Duffelbag, the military's costs are kept as low as possible to make the burden on the tax payer as small as possible for the service we provide.

Tanking is kept to a minimum and we have a very strict MoF to ensure that is always the case.

The military provides large communities that players can get involved with and have fun with. We have forum, IRC and even skype communities choosing to come online because its fun and a number of people have done that for over a year, myself included.

Finally, as for speaking for the e-young, we have many new and old players and are a large part of keeping young players active and getting them involved. I think the young players are making their voices very clear by joining our ranks daily, showing that they think the military is worth the costs.

@DuffelBag Military can support itself only partially, but it's definitely not fully supported by taxes ( soldiers produce food and weapons). I would say military offers much more to regular people than people offers to the army.

Only Guru** workers (and higher skills) can earn enough money to buy more food than the military offers them, so being e-young and a member of the army helps you progress much faster. That should be the point in this game, besides meeting new people.

Being in the military isn't pressing a few more buttons. Just because UK doesn't have organized ass-kicking atm, that doesn't mean that there will be none. And I must tell you, that's an adventure, definitely not "pressing a few more buttons".

Well I think the well being of the country is more important than you making money. Economy is important everywhere. But think this if there were low taxes for you lot the military would not exist or be as good, the military is about organization and you must follow orders, and serve your country.

Just in case this was not made clear; the military generally doesn't even deal with tanking. That is organised directly by private players or the CP.

For those of you still interested in the debate, in order to comment I don't have to be a soldier, merely a tax payer.

I represent those who pay tax and don't draw a military income in kind or money.

So to be clear... I have never worked for the UK military, but I have defended the eUK by fighting! This includes participating in the Liberation of Scotland and responding to Jamesw's request for fighters in the Defense of London.
