DoSaC - Part the first

Day 1,704, 16:59 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Snugz

This next series of articles is about UK government ministry.... wait, come back! 😛 Actually p. much resigned to no-one reading the paper anyway, so don't even care.

Fig. 1: the Free British Government toils away tirelessly in Strasbourg, Poland.

In the United Kingdom's structure ingame, the seperate roles of country president and congress have become well defined through evolution over the last four years.
As Prime Minister, the country president has access to "the buttons" ingame, but most adminnery can be performed by appointees. The USA approach is to outsource ALL the things, UK prime ministers tend to have to work superhumanly thanks to a well-funded anti government lobby. However much work is delegated, here we call these functionaries Ministers, and altogether they are the Government of the United Kingdom in eRepublik. Some Ministries will be political rewards for a party or citizen's support in the election, some are seen as safe places to put those new to government in training for higher roles, and some posts are so toxic that you literally have to inherit the only people willing to get the job done.

Those elected to our congress as Members of Parliament are almost certainly the opposition in this system. Apart from those who are also Ministers, MPs are unlikely to all share the same views as the PM and their government, even if they come from the same eParty. Since the Government controls so much outside of the scope of ingame mechanics, it's up to MPs to hold them to account. This is through the proposals system with regards to foreign policy and defence, and occasionally for economic concerns too, though not all of the options offered as proposals make much difference to a country. MPs have sole control of the citizenship system, so a good Government will want a way for these to be used in the interest of all eRepublicans in the UK.

Negotiation with individual MPs or their parties can be very lucrative for those concerned when it comes to getting things done. But who on earth would do such a thing? FIND OUT NEXT TIME ONLY ON - THE RBSNA TEAM
