Chapter 3:

The Office of the Defense Department was a sight to see. A combination of modern architecture and technology and the Roman style seen in many majestic buildings. The modern part making known to everyone that ePhilippines can match up to other developed countries and the Roman-style buildings, a reminder from the Roman Empire itself.

We can dominate the whole world.

“Wow. You just made a 30-minute speech to tell that we are in trouble”, Purge said, as he was trying to get out of the car.

And now, we remember the second part of the Empire story. A great downfall. The once great empire was reduced to a city.

“And that was only a small part of what is really on to us, gentleman”, Rich Porter responded.

Gentleman? Heh... Purge thought.

As they walked towards the gate, Purge turned his head back to see the car go in the darkness of the night, and at the time the car was gone, the marvelous sight had made itself appear.

The Philippine Military Academy. The school for those who want to fight, and fight good. If not for the spotlights that lighted the academy, it would have looked ugly in the darkness of the night.

“Purge, stop drooling over that building. We need to hurry”, the CO of the Naval Fleet commanded.

“Sure, sure...” the guitarist rolled his eyes over. “Sir, yes, sir!”, then he let out a silent chuckle.

Inside the compound was a long road that led straight to the building. At the sides were green grass, lit with spotlights. Also, motion detectors, cameras and auto-turrets were seen everywhere, scattered in the garden.

“Too much security? Hmm... Maybe this was the very reason for its name. The ‘Defense Department’ that defended itself”, Purge silently told himself.

“I beg your pardon, gentleman?”, Rich Porter suspiciously responded.

“Oh... No... Uhmmm... It was nothing...”

“Never mind that. So... Shall we go in?”

Purge nodded.

“After you, gentleman.”

“Ummm... Commander? Or Rich? Could you please stop calling me gentleman? Kinda creeps me out...”

“What? So what should I call you, then?”

“Anything besides that...”

“Ok. Let me rephrase it. After you, lady...”

“NO! That’s not it! You’re addressing a man!”

“Sir? Reverend? Doctor? Boss? Manager?”

“Oh, never mind it...”

As they were walking on the corridors inside, Purge took a good look at some pictures there. There was the President, HazzN, listed as the first Director of this Department. Then there was Saladin23, the current boss. Some of the ePhilippines best soldiers had their pictures there, too. Romansoldier, the two Directors, the former President Big Boy Bulley, Ryo E, Bestie101, and many more.

“Hey! Are you crazy? You’re going to destroy that wall! Sto—“, Purge said, now pointing to an elevator that opened on a wall, “What’s this?”

“This, my dear man, is an elevator, if it’s still not obvious. Ok? Come in, were going to take this elevator.”

“Where’s this going?”

“To a secret room below the Defense Department. No one, I mean no one, will ever know about this area. I repeat, WILL. Did you get that?”, Rich Porter really sounded serious.

Purge gulped, “Y-y-yes, s-s-s-sir...”

And Purge, being no fan of elevators, as he gets sick when riding these, prepared. And then it stopped. They reached destination. As the doors open, Purge forgot all about his motion sickness and shock replaced the feeling he felt in his body.

“What?! What are you doing here?!?!”
