Donation from dead Players
J Seemore
That is more a tabloid title - taking a donations from dead players is not possible, we are not located in a zombie land, which reminds me there are two wolverines around us. With my articles I am just scratching the surface for future discussions, because we are small nation and we need to act smart. If we want to revive eAustralia then your help is necessary. Our cabinet is able to invite more players for 'Next Generation' Program. These players will help with researches, maintenance, creating different projects, calculations, coordinations, presentations, ect. It will be weird, but we will have more people in the cabinet, congress and PP in top 5 than all other active players in our nation O_o Dreems & Nightmares ...
We all have eDead friends and we hope one day they will come back here and start palying (if Plato fix the game). Usually if you write a letter to the admins to recover your account they do it, but if you have hundreds of gold in Traning grounds and Factories then Plato will reject your request. He wants to pull the gold and all buried under the ground gold is like a profit for him. And the opposite - if you are young account you are welcome to come again and buy as much gold as money you have in your Visa.
Q: What will happened if one player wants to stop playing temporary or permanently and he wants to donate the eMoney to some of his friends?
A: Less people, more free gold = bad business for Plato.
Results: Money deduction and risk of ban.
Fair or unfair that is game for ones and RL work for others.
I will present you a solution, which many other nations already practice it since a long time:
1. When you leave the game for unknown time you must dissolve your factories and TG.
Builded for 55% and dissolving them for 50% means just 5% loss.
2. Make a donation to a specific government org, such as DoEE (Department of Education and Entertainment)
3. By the time of your absence the government will use that gold to support youngest players.
Youngest can easily take:
- 20 gold from the levels;
- 5 gold form FF medal;
- 10 gold - TP madals;
- 5 gold - SS medal - it will takes around two weeks;
- 20 gold from JDS (Joey Development Scheme)
Once the palyer takes all these gold and if he has at least 1 HW medal he will be able to candidate for subsidy from Dead Accounts Donations.
4. When you come back with same or different account you can take all/almost/part of your donated money.
If we are agree to accept these kind of donation (decision is yours) then we will make an official announcement. The player must have at least 9 HW medals and other old players have to confirm that he is real one, not multi. We can't take money from every single player, because this may cost us a lot of problems. With written rules and fine system we will make all that simple and clear for everyone.
I will continue the series with next topics "Changing your MU during the tournaments" and "Media Contests".

Another creative thought, vote!
I dunno man, like you said, this company is losing profits which can be seen on the company's investment page. They are scrubbing for money any and all ways they can. What makes you think they will not stop this as well once it becomes to "costly" for them?
Usually once players hit around level 30, statistically there is a massive drop in players buying gold. Hence why they are contemplating to create a "New World" to stimulate younger players to have a fair chance at being #1 by buying a shit load of gold.
But they know this would only be a temporary increase in revenue in short-term aspect. Simply put they made 1 browser game which made them money and now they got too lazy in imagination and innovation. They made 1 mistake after another and it costed them big.
If their group leader had any brains he would have fired 1/2 the staff a while back and invested in inviting new talent threw recruitment programs in real life or threw cyber world.
Level 30-33 coincides with financial independence in-game. By then you have the TG upgrades in place to use SS and RH medals to either buy companies or fund the occasional sortie. Mind you, only because of the regular specials which have devalued everything simply because they exist. Does anyone actually buy anything at full price anymore?
Another classic case of short-term profiteering killing the core business. I would recommend fewer pseudo- MBA/Sales/Marketing types and more programmers who know a thing or two about Game Design.
Agreed, this game had so much potential and was so interesting not even a year ago. Now even the political aspect of it is like "meh" at best.
Every way you look at it, its points to the same core problem of just lazy programming. But fear not Majester, when the profits drop to the point when they cant afford their luxury get-a ways you will see a "new world" come about. I grantee it.

no im good
I'm taking it all with me. 😃
Nice sentiment, and some do do it, but I've seen very few people quit under favorable circumstances or while thinking rationally.
The game will keep shrinking until the core is restored - communities. As long as solo play and anonymity reaps more rewards than community activities in all spheres; the permanent player base will continue shrinking until eRepublik is left as a vacuous shell of a casual game. As much pain as permanent players are; they form the basis of intelligent content and drive people to keep returning for more abuse.
But gut away those pesky long-term whingers, Plato. While they may not butter the bread like hordes of new players, their passion provides the bread.
