Do we have a traitor in our midst?

Day 2,550, 11:14 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by VoodooMike71

Here’s an interesting little conundrum for you to mull over.

As you may know, I stupidly proposed a stupid law to Congress yesterday. The proposal was to increase the eUK’s minimum wage to 100cc. I know, stupid right?

Why on earth would you do something that stupid?

I had a very specific reason. Ser Fartsalot, Wayne Kerr and Neil Lewis had been arguing with each other (Serf and Wayne vs Neil) on the Congress thread ever since Alex became our new CP. Everyone else was sick of it, and several people - including me - had tried to bring the argument to an end. But to no avail…

The squabbling raged on and Congress was consumed by it. No other Congress business was getting done, nothing else was being discussed.

So I decided to raise a stupid law to put in front of Congress, the idea being that - hopefully - they’d stop arguing about Serf, Wayne and Neil, and talk about something else instead.

So I made the proposal, and then jumped straight onto the Congress thread to announce it, thinking I was making it clear that this was essentially a fake proposal…

After I posted the message, I went back to the law page and voted NO. Interestingly, in the three minutes or so since I’d proposed the law, two other Congressmen had already voted on it. To my astonishment, they’d voted YES...

My NO vote was the third vote cast

You may ask why I chose to take a screenshot at this point. Because straight away I could see trouble coming - a danger immediately spotted by WookieO in Congress.

There may be trouble ahead…

I only wish I’d taken the screenshot a few moment earlier, before I’d click NO.

Subsequently all hell broke loose, and congress soon started voting yes in alarming numbers. Predictably, Ser Fartsalot and Wayne Kerr jumped on this and used it to attack me (and have been banging on about it ever since). Fair enough - I deserved it.

Ser Fartsalot and Wayne Kerr live up to their names

Then Ser Fartsalot made a very interesting statement. He said he saw the vote at 1-0 to YES, and claimed that this meant I must have voted YES myself - because I was deliberately trying to undermine Alex’s CP term.

Not only is this factually incorrect, it’s logically incorrect too. The fact that I proposed the law doesn’t mean that I was the first to vote on it. So I corrected Serf’s mistake and restated my comment to Congress about not voting for the proposal…

And this is where the conundrum lies. Consider this…

1. The first person voted (YES) on the proposal

2. Ser Fartsalot arrived at the vote, and saw that it was 1-0

3. I arrived, saw that TWO people had voted yes, and cast the third vote (NO)

So who cast the second YES vote?

Of course, logically speaking, there’s nothing to show that Ser Fartsalot cast a yes vote, or indeed any vote at all. But I do find it interesting that someone with a clear agenda to try and take me down has admitted to being in the voting area in the three minute period between the first and third votes being cast.

In the interests of fairness I asked Ser Fartsalot, in public, which way he voted. Normally he jumps on my comments within minutes of me making them. So far, a few hours later, he has failed to respond to this one.

So there you have it. I’ll let you draw your own conclusions from the information I’ve posted here. But please asked yourselves, who is the real traitor here? Me - for proposing a daft law for a very specific reason and then asking people not to vote for it, or Ser Fartsalot - who some might suggest is up to no good?
