Dictator makes uninformed decision, near-useless president prevents disaster

Day 3,290, 23:24 Published in Ireland Ireland by KeetnaWilson

Another bad move by sitting Dictator Slaugh. Without consulting anyone, slaugh almost declares war against Great Britain. Desperate sitting president tries to calm population with newspaper article, manages to stop dictator. Another constant example of needed change in our government.

Now let's analyze this.

Great Britain, our direct neighbors, and current ally. They have no natural enemy, no active wars. Why is it a terrible decision to declare war with a country that has less 'Country Power' on the rankings?

Because they have triple our population, more allies, a working democracy, no wars to distract them.

Now look at us. A third of the population, fewer allies, an currently long lasting undemocratic system, a war with New Zealand that is getting nowhere.

If we declare war with them, they have the potential to ally with New Zealand, and destroy us. Even without a partnership, we'd be attacked on both sides.

Now, what would've happened in a democratic system?
Well, first of all, there would be more political diversity. More political diversity would equal more representation of the people in Congress. There would be an informed decision making process in congress, with the ministers, prime minister and president discussing. Our government would analyze the situation, consider future allies, a future war.

Even with the most informed, qualified person as dictator, dictatorship doesn't work. A dictator has opinions, and always, their choices will affect the whole society, but represent only some. With a congress and democratic system, all are being represented. Even if the final decision is against some opinions, all were represented in the decision making process.

Update:
hehe, this was fun. Expect no more, I want to keep my dignity, but your responses were nice.
