Deportation

Day 1,772, 20:46 Published in USA Canada by 5440

Despite commendable efforts, the USA has been unable to prevent the AFA from
being a top 5 party this month. So, how will we be able to beat them? Is it possible to just deport them all?

The general consensus has been that a deportation system would not be very feasible. The main argument seem to be that in addition to being able to deport undesirable citizens, some(or all) of our loyal citizens could also be deported, depending on who is in power. The capability for potentially anyone to be able to deport people they don't like is often seen as the fatal flaw of an in-game deportation system. The other reason many think that a deportation system is unlikely, is that the admins have yet to incorporate one, despite there being calls for it in the past.

With few other options left, the possibility of a deportation system is worth a second look, especially if Plato could actually be swayed to add one. Instead of making everyone deportable, why not just make it only
immigrants? that's how it works in real life anyway, right? If a statute of limitations was also added(say 100 days after immigration), then a nation's loyal long-time immigrants would be naturalized and not have to worry. Another possibility would be to make a waiting period before attempting to return after being deported, that would increase each time. Additionally, stiffening the current immigration system could also turn out to be just as effective.

The president and/or some percentage of congress would most likely be the ones making the call on who to deport. Of course, in our case the president or a small percent of congress would be more helpful. Without a consistent stream of new immigrants, PTOers are left to rely almost solely on multies in order to increase their numbers, as new PTO recruits constantly get sent back. It's not perfect, in that multies and native trouble makers can still try to organize a PTO, but deportation would certainly be a blow to their numbers.

Just an attempt to get the ball rolling on the idea, if you have any thoughts on improvements, comments, etc. that'd be good as well.
