Fellow eAustralians,

Following the aftermath of the elections, the duly elected members of the Senate are now hard at work on legislative issues.

The following bills/proposals/amendments are being tackled on the Senate:

Nominations for the Speaker and Deputy Speaker (Jun/Jul term)
The only nominee for Senate Speaker was Sen. Melchezideck Smith, thus the Senator was awarded the position. Whereas, voting is still undergoing for the Deputy Speaker between three nominees; Senators Newt Gingrich, Dark Vorador and Mark Sanchez.

Possible amendment on the selection of Senate Speaker
Senator Calibur has put forward a proposal to change the current system of electing the Senate Speaker as the Senator observed flaws in the current system. The discussions regarding this matter can be seen here.(http://forum.auserepublik.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1517)

Low Skill Work Bill
This bill proposed by Senator Aaron Camm was stalled in the Senate due to the elections. The bill aims to provide jobs and training at minimum wage for new players. Military Structure and Logistics Act amendment
Senator Ranger Bob has put forth the amendment to update the said Act as some provisions of the Act are no longer deemed necessary. Discussions on this matter can be read here. (http://forum.auserepublik.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1535)

Public-Private Housing Bill amendment
