Department of Information Gazette No. 04-14/06/09 - Cabinet Report

Day 572, 05:26 Published in Australia Australia by eAus Department of Information

Fellow Australians,

The number of reports this week hasn’t been as many as last week. This would probably be due to a transitionary period for Cabinet Ministers. They are in the midst of discussions with our Prime Minister Tim09 with regards to the direction he would like them to be taking this term.

If you can think of anything you would like covered specifically, please feel free to get in touch with myself (Maverick Goh) either by eRep IM or Forum PM.

Here are the reports:
Department of Finance:
Report by Deputy Treasurer Son of Rambo:
Changes in the balance of the NBA:
AU😨 Increased by $3,574.16
Gol😛 Decreased by 32.06
Money/gold was spent on:
1- Buyout of a company as per the AIRRA agreement to secure Tassie's return
2- To pay for the Resistance War in Tasmania
3- Gold for the reserve bank trial
4- AUD spent on MM trades
Also the budget has been released to the senate. The parts not yet approved by senate will be up for vote and the resulting budget will be published in the NBA's newspaper within a couple of days. We have also noticed an increase in the number of citizens joining Australia each day. This has increased our citizen fee costs, but will in the long term provide more taxes for the government

Department of Foreign Affairs:
Report by Minister Cottus Arci:
So far we've contacted all new Presidents of all Nations, requesting their MoFA's and/or Ambassadors. From here, we will also target key nations of interest and get further info such as their full Cabinet.
I have been working on a DoFA gDoc that will keep a list of the Presidents, contacts & Cabinets. It's set up in a way that it contains direct links to the Profile & sending a PM to each contact. It's also set up in a way where anyone previously on the list, doesn't need to be looked up again in future (for example, a MoFA this month then becoming President the next).
Myself & patti11 have been in close contact with PEACE Secretary GladDos in regards to their threat to attack USA. I'm also in contact with key US allies to possibly determine what resistance (if any) will be thrown against this pending invasion. Of course, this is to determine what action I shall recommend Tim09 to take on behalf of Australia.

Department of Defence:
Report from Ministers Ranger Bob and Cozza:
As people are aware, is was a significant week for the Department of Defence. Of our 64 current Dropbears and ACUK, around 51 travelled to eIndonesia to assist in fighting for the return of the region Tasmania to eAustralia. In the first 10 minutes, the efforts of the Dropbears and ACUK alone managed to break the wall down completely.
The MoD and dMoD contributed to this through logistical coordination with the leaders of each squad, as well as ensuring weapons and moving tickets were distributed in time for people to participate. Well done to all involved.
On another front, DoD will be trialling a scheme this month to support newer citizens becoming involved in the Military. Called Training Camp or "Boot Camp", a call for applications will be made for people who are interested in learning more about how the war module of eRepublik works, and receive weapons and support to participate in Battles. This is a great initiative, and will involve 10 recruits per two weeks. Stay Tuned for more information. Br0adside and Arthur Cole have both been promoted to apprentices to our portfolio this month, so we also welcome them to the MoD.

Department of Industry:
Report on behalf of DoI:
While Aussie Vegeta has been elected as Minister of Industry, he will be focusing solely on his other role as Deputy Prime Minister for the rest of this term, as well as his duties as ADSP party president. As a result, Santic has been promoted to Minister of Industry and will be primarily overseeing the government-owned companies. Consequently, the vacant Deputy Minister of Industry will go to Scorpion Stinger, who will focus on market research.

Department of Information:
Report by Minister Maverick Goh:
The DoIF is looking for an apprentice to learn about what it will mean to be a Minister in the department. It would involve contacting the different departments to submit their reports and to post information on weekly Senate happenings. For those interested, please send Maverick Goh a message.
On another note, I have received a formal warning from the Senate Speaker for breaching the Senate Protocol Act recently. I apologise for my actions, and I would state that there was no malicious intent and that it was an accidental mistake. If you have further criticism, please send me a message.
As a reminder, we have created a new Department of Information website for ministers to post weekly reports and for the public to view them. You can find the website here. You can sign up to receive updates by email.

Technical Advisor
Report from Derek Apollyon:
Basically, my job as Technical Advisor is to assist the Ministers in the use of their technology (scripts, spreadsheets, etc).
