Department of Commerce - Secretary of Commerce

Day 535, 09:32 Published in USA USA by Equality 7-2521

United States Country President Scrabman has just officially announced his new cabinet for this, his final term in office. It can be found at A Civil Society.

This month comes with some new additions. I am most excited about the addition of a Department of Commerce headed up by the Secretary of Commerce.

A couple words from those wikipedia articles to add some flavor:
"The United States Department of Commerce is the Cabinet department of the United States government concerned with promoting economic growth."
"The mission of the department is to 'promote job creation and improved living standards for all Americans by creating an infrastructure that promotes economic growth, technological competitiveness, and sustainable development.' Among its tasks are gathering economic and demographic data for business and government decision-making, issuing patents and trademarks, and helping to set industrial standards."
"The United States Secretary of Commerce is the head of the United States Department of Commerce concerned with business and industry; the Department states its mission to be 'to foster, promote, and develop the foreign and domestic commerce.' "

"The line of succession for the Secretary of Commerce is as follows:
Deputy Secretary of Commerce
General Counsel of the Department of Commerce
Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade
Under Secretary of Commerce for Economic Affairs
Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere and Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Under Secretary of Commerce for Technology
Under Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration
Chief Financial Officer of the Department of Commerce and Assistant Secretary of Commerce in charge of Administration
Assistant Secretary for Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs"

As the first eRep player to be appointed to this new position in this new department, I am excited about the possibilities. While all of the Department of Commerce positions that exist in real life may not be necessary here, I will look to fill as many similar positions here as we can muster. So, if you are interested in Commerce, economics or business, either domestic, foreign, or both, if you are interested in taxes or trade or anything else that you think might fall under this purvey, just send me a message. We will need to fill up this office considerably in order to accomplish even a limited amount of what Congress, this President, and the American people want to see accomplished. So, don't hesitate to contact me. My initial mandate is only for one term, one month, and that time flies be before you know it.
