Democracy: Where has it gone?

Day 2,039, 00:24 Published in South Africa South Africa by Marmaduke IV

A few days ago, Russia began its invasion of South Africa. An invasion which Russia claims was approved by South Africa. But was it really?

Let's look at the details.

According to President Miyagiyoda, this is the deal:
South Africa have agreed to allow them the use of Limpopo and Mpumalanga until after Congress elections to allow them time to free regions in Russia. In return they will compensate us with 80G for use of the regions, 50G for lost 10 Congress seats, and a sponsored MPP worth 10,000 ZAR. This allows us maintain our weapon bonuses and generates some ancillary benefits in the form of a war we have been blocked from having.

First thing's first, what are the side effects of this deal.
-We earn a very miniscule amount of gold, which has no apparent use or distribution
-This prevents us from NE'ing Brazil as doing so would cause us to be surrounded by enemies on all sides.
-Basically setting up a CoT sanctuary around, which destroys all hope of sovreignty
-Loss of congressional seats
-Makes us look weak, willing to sell our independence to the highest bidder
-Complicates relations between us and both NaN and TWO

Now let's look at the facts. Did congress really approve this like both Miyagi and Russia's CP claim?

With only 2hrs notice, 16 members of congress and the president himself voted on the issue. The end result of the vote was 10 YES, 7 NO. So where are the other 14 members of congress? They were never even asked.

Almost HALF of congress was not involved in this major decision. And why? Because they were Lazokrats? Nope. I am no Lazokrat. AdUnit is no Lazokrat. Gjorgji Krstevski, mal pariz, Brenda Black. They might not be the most talkative of people, but they are still elected representatives. Should their votes not count? Should the people who elected them's voices not be heard? thekoki, who has dealt over 330,000,000 damage for eSA deserves to have his voice heard too.

Another issue I see is that a 10-7 vote is only 58%, short of the 66% super majority required for all major decisions. Giving away 1/3 of the country is a major decision. In fact, eRep game mechanics consider anything related to wars and regions to be a major decision. Despite this all, despite going to the public, the people who we represent and the people who elected us, Miyagi went ahead and agreed to allow us to be taken hostage by yet another country. Our sovereignty sold away for chump change gold that only stands to benefit players in the elitist circle that is still running the show.

So is eSouth Africa a democracy or not? Why are voting rights only extended to those with connections? This I ask to all of eSA and not just the dictator-traitor King Miyagiyoda. What does eSA want for itself? This type of dictatorship monarchy? Or real freedom.

I urge all citizens to watch the media. Pay attention to revolutionaries like Claudio and Leon Reno, an excellent warrior and tactician. The Revolution is coming.
