Democracy or Dictatorship?

This is more of a pole than an article. But i was curious on eCanada's stance on rather if they be a democracy or a dictatorship. Do you rather one man have all the power or the collective minds of the elected congress?
Do people even care about the politics of eCanada? Or do people see it as a waste of time and only vote based on who puts out the prettiest news articles filled with pictures and useless Fun and Entertainment articles which do not have anything to do about the current status of our nation? Has eRepublik's soul died and now only its shell remain? Filled with not so politically orientated President's and only really log on to fight?

Sadly its about protecting our freedom or not protecting it rather than Democracy or Dictatorship.

I'd rather have a democracy, but you can't really have that at the moment because if we did, we would surely be PTO'ed by another group, placing a foreign Dictator and stealing our money.

it's to defend ourselves from foreign takeover. Canada is a small country and some MUs in the world deal more dmg than Canada every week. if they plant a coup, they can easily win it and they can do whatever they want to Canada. so that's why Canada planted a self-coup to prevent them planting a coup in Canada.
Pretty much what everyone else has said. Devs borked the game so we have no choice.
Dictocracy

We are a small fish in a big pond. Our only play here is to do what we have done.
The game is broken not Canada.
Doesn't really matter if Rylde wins every other election anyway.
There's no real point in politics anymore. Admin killed that with his dictators. Be grateful that Canada was smart enough to install their own dictator. Many did not and now they are effectively gone from the community. When Rylde has his second medal plans are to install someone new but it will still be the same old people doing the same old jobs. That's not a bad thing, just stale.
If some of you new players that write these articles would make yourselves know (i.e. PM some of the active older players.) It would be nice to work some fresh faces into the rotation.
