December '12 MoLA - Second Week Report

Day 1,857, 12:53 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Department for Education

Law Proposals
Here is the list of Laws which Congress have voted on in the last week.

Declare War - Several Nations - ACCEPTED.
This law was proposed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Frerk and is an extremely sensitive proposal. I will leave the details up to the MoFA and MoD to release, I will just say that a detailed war plan was presented to congress and the reaction was overwhelmingly positive.

Well done to UKRP who had 100% voter turnout for this vote. 4 out of 5 Parties had average (62.5😵 or better turnout, although overall this is still around 10% lower turnout than for in game votes.

Non Aggression Pact - Ireland - ACCEPTED.
This law was proposed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Frerk, relations with Ireland have been improving ever since they saved us from our permanent wipe quite a while ago now. We have gone from hated allies of convenience to good neighbours who have become good friends.

Mutual Protection Pact - Hungary - ACCEPTED.
This law was proposed by Rajk Laszlo, President of Hungary. They are an old ally and a former top ranked country with many big tanks who will be contributing a lot of damage to the war.

Mutual Protection Pact - Spain - ACCEPTED.
This law was proposed by KueRVo, President of Spain. We will be working very closely with Spain in the war and they are one of the up and coming countries in the game right now with many newbies for us to please!

Natural Enemy - Canada - REJECTED.
This law was proposed by Kamoris KSC to disrupt our cooperation and war planning with Canada. He is just trolling us here.

He had already been removed from all Congress Discussions and this was his second out of two proposals for the month so this should be the last we see of him unless any parties try to rehabilitate him.

Mutual Protection Pact - Poland - ACCEPTED.
This law was proposed by Aniaa, President of Poland. Poland are just a beast of a country and are the max resource home of many eUK players - this one is kind of necessary to get the best from our own players. Not to mention the Polish tanks 🙂

Natural Enemy - Portugal - ACCEPTED.
This law was proposed by Congressman Jimbojoy as part of our war strategy.

Congress Communication
This month we are trailing a new in game communication system, using group PMs and articles to discuss laws and issues.

This week we have had a great discussion on Foreign Affairs but there will be no logs for this one until the war is over as strategy was discussed, I hope you can appreciate that we don't want the other side reading what we have planned 🙂

We had a trial of a new voting system where a google form and spread sheet is used (see the law proposals section for a link). There were one or two issues but they were fairly minor things so the next vote should go perfectly smoothly.

Several Congressmen ended their boycott this week so thank you to them; they will join Announcements but not Discussion - doing that on their forums.

Announcements are going fine but Discussion does have some ease of use issues. I realised that really the group PMs are only really needed for Sensitive Discussions so all other Discussion can be done in Articles or other places. Some work will be done on article linking and proposal submitting to facilitate this.

Future Updates
What is coming next?

1) I'm off work now so activity and reform will step up a notch.

2) Vice Minister Sven Goran has been tasked with gathering some data on Legislation, his findings are estimated to be out at the weekend along with some reform on Legislation.

3) I will be gathering data on this month’s Citizenship Acceptances and attempting to tackle the dread topic once more!

4) There will be some wiki and archiving work on what we are doing / have done / have discussed for transparency.

Thanks for reading!
