Day 78: Russia Launches Offensive Into Norway

Day 678, 19:20 Published in USA USA by Desertfalcon

Early this morning Russia took advantage of having their MPPs activated against Norway and attacked the two regions of Svalbard and Trondelag. Norway was one of the two countries who teamed up to help block Russia from attacking the U.S. in the early stages of the war and after Norway launched another recent blocking attempt the Russians are looking for revenge. The Scandinavian nations played a huge role in allowing the U.S. to regain the offensive and most agree that it was the regaining of the offensive against Russia that allowed the U.S. to push Russia out of North America.

Right now things aren't looking good for Norway with both regions well below the conquer line. While Norway has allies like the U.S. and Spain to help out, Russia has nine other allies to back them up along with Hungary and Indonesia. Finland and Sweden could still come in to help block Russia and save Norway should things get ugly so we shouldn't have to worry too much about Russia taking over Scandinavia. Sweden recently attempted to block Russia by attacking the Nord-Norge region however they were unable to win the battle and thus lost the initiative. This will be something to watch though as Russia seems just as determined to take some of these regions as they were when they attacked many of the American regions at the start of that war.

We still have yet to see any action on the North American front between the U.S. and Hungary so I won't be reporting much on that conflict unless a battle starts or something important happens. Despite this I will continue to cover the other fronts of the war where there are still active battles, however the articles won't be as long.
