Day 52: Same Old Song And Dance
Desertfalcon
It appears that the war has stalled on both fronts in North America. Canada continues to block Russia and Hungary while Indonesia is still able to block the U.S.. Since neither Canada nor Indonesia can seem to win an offensive battle as of late the map hasn't changed much. Canada has been launching their attacks at the Russian holdings in America and at the original Canadian region of Nunavut which holds high diamonds. Indonesia has been alternating between Nevada and Arizona in hopes of keeping the U.S. blocked and eventually breaking through their defenses. This stalemate is very fragile though as just one other country getting involved and blocking another country could greatly shift the course of the war. The future of America will likely come down to who gets blocked first Indonesia, or Canada. Until that happens there isn't much to report on this front, I will continue to include it in the updates however it will be considerably shorter.
Back in Spain the Spanish are having a great deal of success in liberating their region and are looking to regain the Balearic Islands. This region was a key region before the French invasion as it held a Q5 hospital and had a border with Italy, another PEACE country. At the rate things are going Spain should be able to free the rest of their regions within a week. Madrid will be the only real challenge as it has a population of over 2,000 which is almost the size of Asturias.
Thats about it for today, hopefully there will be more going on tomorrow.

DF, do you think the stalemate is because of the new retreat rules basically preventing the enemies from trying to circle each other and launch their own attacks? Or just a slow day?

When they go after Nevada we should retreat and attack California again.
Noob
LEts pray that canada bursts through
Nice.
Boring day...
livin on the edge
How much is the Global Community spending with 5 attacks every day?
And how much more would they spend if we dropped a Q5-D there?
Thank you for your articles falcon they are some of the best.
Nice and simple ... I notice indo hasn't retreated Nevada. Do the new rules mean it's too late, we'll win one, and then get the offensive? And then attack CA again? Are we ready?
Well then, let's do it!
@Zheng He
I wondered the same thing. If the new rules are in effect, does it also meant that Indonesia could attack Arizona or Oregon at the last second before they lose Nevada and still keep us from getting initiative? Or, even if they do do that and we win Nevada do we get initiative?
But I have to agree with the idea that if/when Indonesia does attack Oregon that we simply just retreat it, and if need be retreat Nevada as well. Right now, bottle-necking Indonesia looks like possibly the best bet on regaining initiative...
Either that or we need to send people to Canada to help the push over either a Hungarian territory or Russian territory and start bringing Canada closer to Indonesia at the expense of Idaho and Oregon.
Peace's reign is ending now,
Ending now, ending now.
Peace's reign is ending now,
My fair lady.
>When they go after Nevada we should retreat and attack California again.
Don't think we can do that. That would count as a loss and we wouldn't be able to attack Indo for 24 hours since we don't have another open battle with them and we're also locked out from attacking due to being attacked.
Meh, first page?
I am not sure how the modified war module will play out if eIndo attacks Oregon or Arizona before Nevada is over and we win Nevada. Obviously there has to be some hierarchy of rules - does their loss in Nevada give us initiative? or would the attack on OR/AZ allow them to hold initiative even though losing NV?
This really can get quite confusing at times and at this point, since we don't know all the details of exactly how admin modified the war module, it's largely going to be speculation until the events unfold.
Thank you for the constant updates, DF. They are an enormous help.
All eIndo has to do to keep the US on the defensive is keep an open batttle going. From California they can attack three seperate US regions - before the battle is done in Region A they start another battle in Region B -so it doesn't matter if they win or lose - if there objective is simply to block the US.
That is what eCanada is doing with eRussia and eHungary - constantly attacking so as to block both of those powers. That can continue as long as eCanada has the money to keep it going.
I suspect that the grand strategy was for eCanada to block both eRussia and eHungary until the US had pushed eIndo out of both California and Hawaii. At that point the eUS and allies would turn their attention to removing the eRussians.
So how to break the stalemate - find some eIndo region and some bordering country that would be willing to attack eIndo - doing so, properly timed would block the eIndo's and allow the US to regain the initiative.
There does not seem to be a lot of volunteers lining up to attack eIndo - it would likely have to be a country that is already involved in a war with eIndo.
always good articles

The new rules are rather confusing >_>
I took a look at the map, and at the moment there is no country that could block Indonesia..Unless India could be convinced into it, which is highly unlikely. Other then that, the countries bordering Indonesia are all PEACE-affiliated.
On the other hand, Iran could easily block Canada by attacking British Columbia or Alberta..I don't see why they aren't doing it.
Good article as always! 🙂
haha, DF I love your articles, they're the only thing that keeps me truly updated with the USA now a days since I got banned.
anywho, I see some interesting conversations always stemming off of them, which is pretty neat.
good to see you're still active,
-Uncle Sam-
I've only been playing for a while, so I'm not sure if this idea will actually work and I'm not really suggesting it: Since Fortis has surrounded central North America on all sides except the north, what if we attacked a lot of perimeter territories simultaneously... sure it would cost a lot, but we'd gain a few territories back too.
