Day 43: New England Falls, America Seeks To Liberate The South

Congressional Elections edit: Thanks to everyone who has voted for me as I now have a huge lead and have 150 more votes then any other candidate. I think its safe to say my election is secure if there is anyone else you think deserves to be in congress I would advise voting for them as I will make it in fine. I would recommend either voting for Bill Brasky on the UIP ticket or Mjdiv on the Lib ticket as both are right on the verge of making it.

Last night the U.S. launched a counter attack into Alabama to take advantage of the recent lack of invasions from PEACE. The U.S. military fought hard and the U.S. was able to win by a huge margin with the wall over 500k in the underground at battles end. Alabama isn't a very important region in itself, however the American victory has allowed the U.S. to continue the offensive and they are now targeting the high oil region of Louisiana. The victory in Alabama didn't come without a cost as Russia had launched an attack into Maine a few hours earlier. This attack forced the U.S. to Maine so that they could continue their advance in the South. All in all its not a huge loss as Maine had no resources and a small population however it will keep several congressional hopefuls off the ballot tomorrow.

The attack on Indonesia will likely kill any hopes for a peace treaty between PEACE and the U.S.. The peace proposal is currently being voted on by the Indonesian congress and right now it is being rejected 3-1. While the proposal is still young Indonesia will likely reject the treaty with the recent invasion of Louisiana. If the treaty were to fail Indonesia will be able to continue to use their MPP in the war between the U.S. and Portugal. Indonesia will also be able to keep their MPP with Russia however with no more New England regions to take their is quite a large buffer region between the U.S. and Russia so this isn't too much of an issue.

Spain has liberated yet another region in Aragon boosting their region count to four. The Spanish have since started another resistance war in the region of Galicia with the battle still in between the conquer and secure lines with 12 hours left to go. Despite having the upper hand in conquest wars PEACE continues to have difficulty in defeating resistance wars. This could prove to be a problem if Spain or Canada were to raise up the money to start a resistance in a region like Ontario or Asturias since if either of these regions were liberated Spain or Canada wouldn't have too hard a time liberating the rest of their conquered regions.

Resistance wars in the U.S. haven't been successful mostly because a good chunk of our population still lives in the U.S. Since Resistance wars require you to be in the country your resisting against it makes it difficult to fight a resistance and a conquest war at the same time, however if Florida were to fall we would likely start seeing successful resistance wars state side as well. I will keep you updated on this and would also like to announce that I am running for congress in Florida on the CVP ticket. I don't really have time to write up a full platform but to keep it short at this point in time we need to have an experienced congress who understands the situation and that is why you should vote for me tomorrow (or today depending on when you are reading this).
