Day 39: Spain Wiped Out, New Jersey Falls

Today the fourth country aligned with either Fortis or Eden has been completely taken over with Spain losing Madrid earlier this morning. Spain had two fortress regions yesterday and both came under attack with France attacking Madrid and Brazil attacking Andalucia. The battle in Andalucia started later but it ended right before the battle of Madrid when the president of Spain retreated noticing that Madrid would be lost. The reasoning behind this is that it would be better to be completely taken over to get rid of the active wars and just RW a region back then it would be to just be bottled up in one region continually and have to worry about the wars. Spain has since started a resistance war in La-Rioja which has a small population and no resources, right now its hard to predict who will win as it is a close battle. The Spanish also voted to impeach their president today citing the loss of the Spanish treasury and his lack of communication with the public as the main reasons for impeachment.

America suffered a devastating defeat today when Russia managed to take over the fortress state of New Jersey. The loss of New Jersey has greatly weakened the U.S. by trapping one third of our population behind enemy lines and taking away a Q5 hospital region. Now the U.S. is down to four regions and with New Hampshire likely to fall we will be down to three tomorrow. With the loss of New Jersey the U.S. economy also took a huge hit as the price of moving tickets has skyrocketed to 25 USD which is currently more then the highest job offer for any skill on the market. The value of USD has also lowered significantly.

Back in Europe things appear to be heating up again on the Hungarian-Croatian front which has long been dormant. Hungary attacked the region of Northwest Croatian early this morning and the Croats were able to fend them off pretty well for the first part of the battle however the Serbians soon attacked the region of Slavonia which could go either way right now. The front in Serbia seems to be the replacement for the war in Spain as even if Spain does get a region back PEACE is done with that front.

The Greeks are once again on the defensive after a long string of victories that resulted in them regaining all of their lost regions from before. The Greeks had the opportunity to push the offensive further and attack original Turkish regions however this would of activated the Turkish MPPs and the Greeks thought this would hurt them in the long run. With no one attacking them Turkey was free to launch their counter attack and managed to secure the Aegan islands. The Turks are using the Aegan Islands as a launching point for attacks into both Crete and the Peloponnese regions. Currently both battles where Greece has pushed the walls well into no mans land.
