Day 37: U.S. Down To 6, Spain To 4

There hasn't been much action on the battlefield since the peace treaty fell through but the results of the battles that do take place haven't changed much. Despite the U.S. administration reaching an agreement with Portugal and Indonesia on a peace treaty it doesn't appear too likely to happen with Russia holding out. There was some talk of Indonesia and Portugal going ahead and signing the treaty however with two days passed and no proposals it appears that that won't happen anytime soon and Russia will most likely conquer the rest of New England with the support of their allies in PEACE.

What happens after that is anyone's guess. In order for the U.S. to be completely taken out Portugal would have to go back on the peace treaty they are about to accept and either attack Florida directly or region swap so Indonesia could attack instead. Florida would be a must win for the U.S. as it would likely be the last region left and its loss would undoubtedly be devastating. The other possibility is that PEACE just lets all our non fortress states fall and leaves us with Florida and New Jersey, this would hurt us as well since neither of those regions hold any high resources and our economy would slowly weaken.

Back in Spain things haven't been going good either following the loss of the Balearic Islands which held one of the nations Q5 hospitals. Spain is in a similar situation to the U.S. as they are also low on regions and only have two fortress states in Andalucia and Madrid with Madrid being the Spanish equivalence of Florida. Madrid would likely be a huge battle as well however if Russia were to speed up their invasion or just invade New Jersey before they took out the rest of New England it could put the U.S. in another lose-lose situation, either defend the Q5 region of New Jersey or let Spain be wiped off the map. PEACE was able to successfully use this tactic when they attacked Ontario and Texas at the same time, F/E forces ended up losing both despite not being as spread out as PEACE hoped.

Currently Russia is attacking the region of Rhode Island. This doesn't mean much as the region has a tiny population and no resources however its not looking good as the wall is deep into the underground and it very well appears that the U.S. will soon be down to just their fortress states. The next target will likely be Massachusetts or New Hampshire, New Hampshire would make more sense to attack as it would open up a border between Russia and Maine which would give PEACE access to every American region. Spain is also being attacked in a less important region as France has attacked the Valencian Community region, this region has a population of almost 500 and a Q4 hospital however its nothing compared to their fortress states. Right now both Spain and the U.S. are losing bad in the two regions currently under attack. Stay tuned for more daily updates on the war.
