Day 1651 - 7 days in the life of Cromania

One week today
Rewinding back to one week ago today, Croatia were fleeing from Slovenia though Austria after having their original regions decimated by Serbia while just around the corner Romania pursued Slovenia through their original regions. The situations of the closest allies in eRepublik could not be more different, Romania holding all of Hungary's original regions and then going on a charge for Slovenia's, while Croatia were literally battling to keep their country on the map after being chased off their lands by Serbia and Slovenia.
Poland get involved
In their rush though Austria, Croatia gain a land border with powerhouse Poland and their problems multiply vastly with little chance of escape. At this point Romania are still making a charge on Slovenia as they conquer one of Croatia's Austrian regions, this gives a perfect opportunity to cut the border between Croatia and Slovenia and end the war which they do so in an emphatic 8-0 victory. Now Croatia, with just Poland and Serbia to contend with, must find a way to escape and fast, but as the next hours unfold it starts to look impossible to do so.
The escape plan
Croatia now sits in a position where they are holding regions only in Austria and are in two separate blocks, North Austria and South. With Serbia advancing on the Southern region and Poland on the Northern block, things are looking bad. Come election day Poland takes Croatia's second to last Northern region and Serbia is poised to take the last Southern region after beating off a Croatian attack. This puts Croatia down to one region facing an imminent attack from Poland, but all is not lost, in a last ditch attempt, TEDEN fight off the Polish advance but all is not over yet. Another rallying call from TEDEN forces wins the following Resistance War and closes the final ONE border to Croatia.
Aftermath
Now Croatia doesn't sit in the most comfortable position in the New World, however it's a vast improvement on what could have been. What lies in future for the Balkan country is unlikely to be good, tough times are ahead with security of the country not looking good, one successful Resistance War could wipe the country and the only thing standing in the way between Croatia and Poland is a very vulnerable Austria. One thing for sure, this story is not over yet.
