Day 12 - America's Last Region Attacked!!!

Day 12 -

North America
The United States has made repeated attempts of retaking Maine from Poland. And they have repeatedly failed. The Polish are intent on keeping the region.
However, the major news from this region, is that the United States last region has come under attack. Indonesia has decided that a potential war with China is worth the risk, if it means that the United States will be wiped from the map. Hawaii was invaded by the Indonesians about 2 hours ago. They have won the first battle, and are looking to eliminate the USA. This is a position that the United States has never been in before. We have been down to one region before, but never have we been so thoroughly dominated. Although the fight for Hawaii is sure to be vicious, I am predicting an American loss, and the loss of America from the World Map.

One region left.

Hungary captured Texas yesterday as well. This is good news, as it means the war with Hungary is closed. There is also a resistance war in Oklahoma. Whether this region can be liberated before Hawaii is lost, remains to be seen. The United States is up 1-0, however.
The war with Spain is also over, as the Spanish conquered South Dakota yesterday.

South America
Brazil continues to fight against Peru and Spain. They have seen mitigated success, resitance warring their regions back from Peru, but have been unable to retake any of the Spanish held regions. They are in somewhat the same situation that the United States is in. They can win resistance wars, but not conventional battles.

Europe
Portugal and Mexico are continuing to tangle, and although Portugal failed to retake the Azores, another battle has been opened, and it is currently tied 4-4. If Portugal could retake the Azores, it would cut off the Mexican capital from their holdings in Western Europe, and render them useless, economically.

Overall Analysis
Here we are. On the brink of destruction. We have been here once before, only it was in Florida. Two years ago, we won. But the game is much different now. And the stacks against us are that much higher as well. Will the United States prevail like they did before? We will know in a just a little bit. I think that we will lose Hawaii. We may regain a region via resistance war before that happens, meaning that we would technically still be on the map.
The United States is one of the few countries in the world that has never been wiped. And this is a sense of pride for the nation. PEACE (precursor to ONE), may have conquered 50 of our regions, but they could never take the 51st. And the Americans always remembered that, and held it over Hungary and Serbia’s head. The United States is the last great challenge. We believed ourselves invincible, and now ONE has brought us back to reality.
If the nation is wiped, what happens after will be the most interesting. Will people leave the United States and travel to other countries to make their living? And how organized will the resistance be? I sincerely hope that we don’t have to answer these questions, but I am not holding my breathe.
