Day 109: That's Ballgame

Day 709, 18:10 Published in USA USA by Desertfalcon

It's been a long three and a half months but it's finally over. Just a few minutes ago the U.S. rolled into Alaska in an attempt to push PEACE out of North America and end the war for the most part. The Americans faced little opposition in Alaska compared to the other two battles where the walls were both well into no mans land near battles end. For this battle the wall was about 500K into the underground an hour before the battle ended, about one million points lower then where the walls were at this point in time in Manitoba and Nunavut. Hungary has built up the defenses of Alaska however after the U.S. took such a large lead PEACE didn't attempt a last minute tanking operation which allowed the U.S. to continue to chip away at the wall until it ended at -641,685 damage. More then enough for the U.S. to liberate their last state.

The war isn't officially over yet, however once Nunavut is transferred over to Canada tonight the U.S. and Canada will both have all of their regions back. The world will likely move into a cold war state since neither side would be interested in attacking the original regions of another country to activate their MPPs. The U.S. learned this lesson the hard way during the war since many of the countries the U.S. had previously attacked (Russia, Portugal, and France) were able to take advantage of the MPPs the U.S. activated back then to take American regions.

I have long said that I would continue these updates until America and Canada retook their last regions and now that that has happened I expect this to be the last daily update. It is still possible that another front will flare up tomorrow that could draw me back to writing daily updates though so I'm only about 90% sure this will be my last update. Regardless I have had a great time writing these for the past 109 days. While it has been tough at times to get an article out each day it feels like such an accomplishment to cover the largest war in erepublik history from start to finish. I will continue to write articles but not on a daily basis. My next article will be a summary of this war, but after that I will move on to covering a wider scope of events so it won't be battle reports 100% of the time.

I'm going to close this article out by saying thank you to those of you who have read my articles throughout the war, and most importantly thank you to all Americans and the F/E soldiers who fought for the U.S. in our struggle for liberation. It's been a long and difficult war, we have been pushed all the way back to Florida, but in the end we have triumphed and tonight America, we celebrate.
