Dade's CP Platform: Accountability

Transparent Government: Many of our citizens aren't avid forum-goers (even though it's a good idea), so my Minister of Communication will be tasked with taking all important events of the administration and relaying them to the public through the national paper. Hopefully we can keep many of less active citizens aware of what is happening in the executive and congress. If you aren't already subbed to the eCBC, now is the time to do it, because June should be an exciting month for it.
Improved Financial Transparency: Part of the Ministry of Finance's duties will be tracking every taxpayer penny to its final destination. Of course, I will require that the MoF hire out these duties as they are a time consuming, yet incredibly important, job. However, with many eyes and hands it will be far less work. Part of this financial transparency will be having a CAF auditor who can report to either executive or congress on how funding is being distributed in the CAF. Having an internal CAF auditor is an idea I know the Army brass has thrown around before, and if elected I would bring it up with Coda again to gain her opinion.
Crime and Punishment: Recently there have been arguments over what kind of power the Supreme Court should have. Obviously they've hinged more or less on the discussion of the 4000 CAD theft by TemujiunBC. There are two aspects of eRepublik: roleplay and gameplay. They are forever entwined, and it's difficult to know where one begins and the other ends. If there was no role-play, congress could vote to raise VAT to 50% and split the money between themselves - no in-game rules would stop them. Role-play plays an important part in government, and in the ethics of all 3 branches of government. To completely neglect role-play is a mistake, and to completely neglect in-game mechanics is also a mistake. My mandate as Prime Minister will be to balance the power of the Supreme Court appropriately between in-game mechanics and role-play.
Being Accountable for Success: Far too often the everyday hard work of average eCanadians goes unnoticed. In conjunction with my Minister of Communication I want to make the toil of our hardest working citizens known. An example of this would be mentioning in a Presidential Address the continued good work of a certain Supply Officer (who by the way have one of the hardest and most thankless jobs around), or announcing a particularly dedicated effort by a low-ranking soldier in an important battle. It's about time eCanadians became accountable for their successes!

Un gouvernement transparent: Comme plusieurs citoyens ne fréquentent pas notre forum (bien que ce serait une bonne idée pour eux de le faire), mon ministre des Communications aura comme tâche de rapporter tous les événements majeurs de mon administration au public, à l'aide du journal national. J'espère ainsi que plusieurs citoyens moins actifs puissent être au courant de ce qui se passe au niveau du pouvoir exécutif et du congrès. Si vous n'êtes pas déjà abonné à la eSRC, c'est maintenant le temps de le faire, puisque juin devrait être un mois des plus excitants.
Amélioration de la transparence financière: Une partie des travaux du Ministère de la Finance sera de garder compte de chaque cent des payeurs de taxes jusqu'à leur destination finale. Bien sur, j’exigerai que le Ministre de la Finance donne ces devoirs à quelqu’un puisqu’il requiert beaucoup de temps, mais qu’ils sont d’une importance incroyable. Mais, avec plusieurs personnes se sera beaucoup moins de travail. Une partie de cette transparence financière sera d’avoir un Vérificateur pour les FAC qui pourra reporter comment l’argent est distribué à la branche Exécutive du Gouvernement ou au Congrès. Avoir un Vérificateur à l’intérieur des FAC est une idée que le High Command avait déjà eue avant, et si je suis élu j’en parlerais avec Coda pour avoir son opinion.

Il y a deux aspects à eRepublik : le « Rolepay » et « Gameplay ». Ils seront toujours entremêler, et c’est difficile de dire où l’un commence et où il arrête. S’il n’y avait pas de « Roleplay », le Congrès pourrait voter pour augmenter les VAT de 50% et de se séparer l’argent entre eux – il n’y a pas de règles « In-Game » pour les arrêter. Le « Rolepay » joue un rôle important dans le Gouvernement et dans l’éthique des trois branches gouvernementale. Complètement négliger le Rolepay est une erreur, et de complètement négligé les règles du jeu et aussi une erreur. Mon mandat en tant que Premier Ministre sera de balancer le pouvoir de la Cour Suprême entre le « Roleplay » et les lois « In-Game »
Être responsable du succès: Trop souvent le dur labeur quotidien ne se fait pas remarqué. En conjonction avec mon Ministre de la Communication je veux le dur travail de nos meilleurs travailleurs connus. Un exemple serait de mentionné dans une Annonce Présidentielle le bon travail continu des « Supply Officers » (qui en passant est un des travails les plus difficiles et moins remerciés) ou annoncé l’effort d’un soldat de bas rang particulièrement dédié dans une bataille importante. C’est le temps que les eCanadiens deviennent responsable de leurs succès!

Hi Dade. Thank you for bringing accountability to the forefront.
I have seen many actions taken by the executive/congress/forum admins that were never explained and I feel that it is quite disrespectful of the stakeholders of Canada.
It's easy for us to agree that matters of national security and matters affecting the value of the CAD should be held close to the vest and need not be publicly explained for obvious reasons. I personally can't think of any other matter which needs to be hidden.

Please describe any issues ( hypothetically) that you as president would keep secret from the taxpayers and why.
Feel free to mirror examples from recent Canadian history if it helps you to express your thoughts.
While I would like to make budget information available, the exact specifics of which platoons are getting supplied at which times is sensitive that shouldn't be released. Under my administration we will be observing individual supply information, and a system will be set up to make sure that taxpayer dollars are going exactly where they should be. However, this information won't be publicly available. Once Phoenix countries start looking at specific supply information they will be able to predict CAF movement and actions based on supply information. I believe the system I've endorsed is a mix between increasing accountability while at the same time retaining national security. Thank you for the continued questions, only atoms. 🙂
