2 victories to celebrate for Belgium: Paris-Tours and the first race of the superprestige cyclo-cross in Ruddervoorde

Van Avermaet wins second-last classic of the season

The first Paris-Tours with a new final and no help from the coaches through electronic aid, started off with seven riders in front. With 100 km left, 15 more riders merged with the group. Van Avermaet, Delage, Marcato and O'Grady are some of their names. The peloton couldn't bridge the gap, so the winner was in the leading group. Gérard tried at first, but was overruled by Van Avermaet and Marcato. Teammate of Gérard, Delage, tried to make a final jump but he didn't make it. In the sprint Van Avermaet was clearly the better rider. Next weekend the road cycling season comes to an end with the beautiful Tour of Lombardia.

Albert wins and is the first leader of the superprestige

Zdenek Stybar came back from training camp after his knee injury and was the best rider, next to Steve Chainel, the first two laps. Nys, Wellens and Vantornout were in the back of the field, Nys due to a problem with his bike.

After a regrouping, Bart Aernouts made a move, only to be countered by Niels Albert. After getting Aernouts back, Albert rode his final 2 laps alone. The three riders with a disastrous first lap finished after the duo Albert-Aernouts. Vantornout 3rd, followed by Nys and Wellens.

Disappointment of the day was Kevin Pauwels, who will need lots of good performances in the superprestige for a good table. Stybar came eventually in 6td place.
